Which one have you chosen or use on your infant?

We have this one, and it is awesome. http://www.amazon.com/Exergen-Temporal-Artery-Thermometer-Antimicrobial/dp/B0015TIZGQ/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=hpc&qid=1271450670&sr=8-2

Super fast and easy to use. Also very accurate.

I love that one. It was a life saver at night when I'd sneak in and take my LO's temperature when he was sleeping. LOVE it. Plus my ER uses one to take temperatures in triage.

great! :)

Any thoughts on which first aid kit I should put on my registry?

I have the exergen model too and like it. My only problem is if she awake. You have to glide the termo from the center to the left to get the reading and often she moves her head away before I complete.

We also use the Exergen Temporal thermometer. LOVE IT! This is the same thing they use at my Pediatricians office.

Our ped insists on rectal temps, especially on infants. So, we use this one. I think it was only $5 at Walmart and we tested its accuracy against our ped's glass thermometer and it was the same. It gets you a temp very very fast.

I need to get a temporal thermometer too esp. since I have a toddler, but for an infant what worked better for us was the normal rectal thermometers (although I hated the screaming, but at least it was quick!). I never found the ear one that we got to be very accurate.

Me too, exactly.

My peds office always insisted on a rectal temp. They're super cheap and super accurate. I also suggest getting Vaseline and bought a box of disposible probe covers - a box contains more than you'll need for several years and costs just a couple of bucks.
