My friend recommended these as a fun toy for the whole family. I saw them on clearance at TRU and snatched them up for a birthday gift for DH from the girls. WOW! These things are cool. All wood, all the same shape, no instructions, but very versatile. You can build TALL, intricate buildings with these and it really was fun for all four of us.

My store had the 200 pack for $24, 100 pack for $14, and IIRC the 54 piece was $8......there were tons on the shelf.

The girls quickly realized that these are perfect for building fences for their schleich/safari ltd. animal collection....

Here's a pic of a tower we built yesterday. ETA: I feel a little guilty for saying "we" built it. DH built it while I kept the girls from knocking it over. Just to be completely honest....

wow, those look cool. do you have the TRU/receipt number to give us.

Would I be an AWFUL parent for taking a kid out w/strep to get some of these? OMG how fun!!!! what set did you get?

Mel, I have a love/hate relationship w/all the great deals you share. LOL. Mwah! thank you. hopefully we can get/locate some

ETA: so is one set different sizes/shapes? or are other sets w/different sizes/shapes. I ask because they remind me a lot of the KAPLA blocks. got 2 or maybe even 3 boxes of them years ago when Target had them on clearance.

Here are the numbers from my receipt: 100 piece set: 899215002080
200 piece set: 899215002097

It sounds like they are very similar to Kapla blocks. They are all the same size and shape. We got the 200 set which has a few blue and red thrown in but mostly wood. I picked up the 100 set for my friend. I honestly wouldn't mind having a few more, but I wonder if they would go down a bit more in the next week or so.

I have a love/hate relationship with ALL deals. And I realize that buying DH blocks for his birthday from the girls was kind of cheating on my no-new toys/clothes commitment but I honestly thought he would like them and he does seem to. He is into toys as much as any child anyway.....

I think it's a fun/GREAT idea for DH. Obviously he's got the eye/talent to build. Tee, hee!!!

I wish we had some colored ones too, looks great w/the POW of the colored wooden ones. thanks for the #, maybe we don't need these if they're like Kapla. yeah if they're all the same shape/size, that's what we have too. kids LOVE them!! we also use them like dominoes to put up and knock them all down. IMO, a really GREAT toy for the imagination. HIGHLY recommend them.

Please for the sake of all the other children out there, keep your sick child at home. Send someone else to get them for you.

I was kidding. Kind of. She's been on antibiotics and the Dr said she's fine to go out after the 1st 3 doses, aka 24 hrs. and besides the damage has been done. most contagious before the actual symptoms occur.
