I know I've seen references to the research showing that homework does not have a postivie impact on students until 5th (I think?) grade. Does anyone happen to have links to the studies or news articles on the studies handy?

Thanks!
Catherine

Thank you! I've decided that I really should at least contact the school board (homework is a district-wide policy here) rather than just moaning about homework. I figured the least I could do is put together an e-mail with link(s) and send it off to the board members. I appreciate your help!

Nak
Alfie KOhn has some research on this and a book.
He gave an interview on Diane rehm (npr) on the topic a few years back.

His books usually have many citations that might be helpful to you.
