View Full Version : What is your 15-mo old's bedtime?

Ours goes to bed at 7pm. Usually by that time he's tired and *wants* to go to sleep. The more moms I talk to, this seems to be a very early bedtime. DS wakes at 7:30 am. It poses a bit of a challenge when we want to eat out...usually we just keep him up until 8:30, which has been fine (but he still wakes at his normal time the next morning). Other times, I am so tired by the time I get home from work that I *want* him to go to sleep at 7 (that sounds terrible, i know). What is your toddler's bedtime?

My 3 year old and 18 month old go to bed at 7. My 3 year old reads books until about 7:30 in bed and then goes to sleep. I love it! Gives me time at night to myself. They get up between 6 and 7 in the morning.

DD is 18 months old and goes to bed at 7 and wakes up between 6:30 and 8 depending on how busy a day she's had.

DS who is 14mo goes to bed at 9 or 9:30 - and I was afraid that was too late. I tried to put him down at 8 or 8:30, but haven't had much success. depending on whether he slept during the day, he wakes up between 7 and 8am, sometimes 8:30am.

My 17 month old goes down between 7-8 and is up at 5:30-6. I wouldn't mind her sleeping a bit later but I am also sometimes soooo ready for her to go to sleep!! and of course she's up 2-3 times a night too!

She goes to sleep 730-8 ish, but if she's had a late nap it could be later. And that late nap is often due to sleeping late. So when that happens I set the alarm for the next morning to get back on track.

My 13+ month old goes to sleep between 7:15 & 7:30 and wakes around around 6:30, on a good day, 6:00 on a bad day. He also takes two good, consistent naps at 9:30 and 2:30.

DD is 15 months and she goes to bed at 8 pm. She takes one nap from 1-3. Her wake up time is a little whacked right now - she's waking up between 5-6 am and when she goes back down she'll sleep until 7ish. If she wakes up closer to 6:00 or so, sometimes she won't fall back asleep. We don't like those days so much.

DS is 20 months but has been on this same schedule for the better part of the last year. He goes to bed between 8-9, we shoot for 8 but it doesn't always happen. He sleeps all night and wakes up normally about 8:30.

DD is two.......but she's had the same bedtime for over a year now............she's in bed between 7:30-8:00 and she sleeps about 12hrs. She takes one nap right after lunch for about 2-3hrs. She sleeps all night.
If she's had a crazy day she'll sleep more than 12hrs, or go to bed before 7:30 (like tonight).

10 at that age. We worked to 9 during 12-24m. We are night owls, dh doesn't get home from work till 6:30, we have no need to be up in the morning so this works well for our family. So long as they are getting enough sleep in 24 hours I do not think it matters when so long as it works for you and them.

dd3 who is 14 months goes to bed between 7-7:30pm and wakes between 6:30-7:00.

DD1 (6yr) and DD2 (3yr) go to bed at 7:30-7:45pm and wake up at 7am. Everybody always tells me this is an early bedtime for the 2 older ones, but they fall asleep right away and sleep almost 12 hours!

6:30 was my little guy's bedtime at 15 months. At a big 19 months, tho', he's pushed it back to 7, lol.

He wakes up around 6:30 or 7. One nap in the morning for 1.5 hours or so.

DD's 3.5 now, but when she was that age, she went to bed at 7 p.m. I wouldn't worry that it's early...if he seems tired and ready for sleep and sleeps for 12 or 12.5 hours, then it's working for him. I think you'll find answers all over the place, depending on everyone's schedules and kids. Sounds like he's getting a good night's sleep, which is what matters. FWIW, it did seem kind of like a pain to always have to be home, but that phase passes quickly enough.

DD is almost 16 months goes to bed between 7:30-8:30pm and sleeps for about 12 hours straight. She also still takes 2 naps for an additional 2-3 hours of sleep during the day. I think all babies are slightly different, if your DS is not falling asleep during his day (in the car, stroller, etc), it probably means that he gets enough sleep on his current schedule.

:yeahthat: DS is 17 months and has been on a very similar schedule for months.

My 13mo is in bed between 6:30-7pm and up around 6-6:30am with a nap of 1.5-2hrs. My little guy wakes earlier the later I put him to bed, so rather than risk him being over tired, we shoot for a early bed time.

Our 21 month old has pretty much had the same bedtime for a year+ at this point. We start bedtime around 7, she's usually asleep by 7:30 (earlier if we don't do a bath). She starts stirring around 6:30 (but happily plays in her crib until I get her around 7:15) and takes a 2 hour nap, usually 1-3. (Up until a few months ago she was taking a solid 3 hour nap, but her bedtime and wakeup times were the same.)

I hate reading these!! Always seems like everyone has kids who need more sleep than mine:)

19 months old, in bed at 8:30 and asleep by 8:45. Awake by 6:30 or 6:45. Single nap that lasts anywhere between 1 and 2 hours (usually about 1.5 hours). That's it!! Earlier bedtimes didn't work - they ended up waking at night due to being in bed for too long. Once we moved their bedtime back to cut down on their nighttime sleep, the night wakings disappeared.

at 15 months DD was going to sleep at about 8:30/9 and sleeping till about 8:30/9 with one 2 hour nap and one 1 hour nap. I was thrilled with that schedule, but she started skipping that second nap and now goes to sleep at about 7:30/8. She still sleeps till about 8/8:30.

OUr 15 month old goes down at about 6:45-7. She sleeps to somewhere between 6:45-7:30 in the morning, and takes a nap at around noon.

Funny story -- on Tuesday, I went to get her at 7 (we have to be out of the house by 7:15 for day care drop off/my train). She was still sleeping. She picked her head up, looked at me for a minute, and then shook her head, saying "nah" right before she put it back down! I was thinking "what are you, 12!?!?"

DD is 14 months. We start the bedtime process (milk, bath, pjs, reading) around 7:15, and she's down by 7:45-8:00.
She sleeps until anywhere between 5am and 6:30am- depends on when we get up and she hears action.

My almost 15 month old goes to bed between 6:30 and 7:00. He is tired and wants to go to bed. He gets up anywhere between 6:30 and 7 am which is fine by me because that is when the older 2 are up. I have always enjoyed having my kids go to bed "early" because I am DONE and need a break by 8 pm!

:yeahthat: And thank you so much for posting this. It made me feel like I am not the only one. I don't know anyone IRL with a night owl schedule like ours, and sometimes it makes me feel bad, lol.

DS is 15 months and he usually goes to bed around 9pm after his bath and bottle and wakes up bet. 6:30-7am. He still takes 2 solid naps during the day for another 2-3 hours of sleep.
