View Full Version : Recommendations for a small desk?

I'm thinking of putting a small desk in DD1's room, even though I expect that she'll be doing homework at the kitchen table for at least a few more years. We'd store some art and writing supplies there and if she wanted to work on something without her little sister getting into it, she could. (This is a big problem at the moment here, DD2 wants to "help" DD1 with projects all the time, and doesn't understand the concept of coloring on her own paper...)

We have no Ikea nearby, and my local craigslist basically sucks. I haven't found anything reasonable at Target or Kmart and I can't afford PBK. So I'm turning to the internet!

I really like the size (and price point) of this one: http://www.amazon.com/Lipper-International-Childs-Chalkboard-Chair/dp/B000WXWX32/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=furniture&qid=1272327926&sr=1-1 But I'm not thrilled with the idea of a chalkboard top. I don't have good luck getting chalk stains out of clothes, and I can't imagine what it would do to the carpet!

Any suggestions that might be similar, both size and cost wise?

(I also like this, but I've never heard of the brand and it's a lot more expensive...it might last a bit longer into the grade school years, though... http://www.cymax.com/Common/Product/Legare-Select-34-Inch-Kids-Multi-Pack-Desk-and-Monitor-Shelf-in-Strawberries-Chocolate-MPPM-104.htm )

Thanks!
Sarah :)
