Did your second baby arrive earlier than the first?

If you have more than one child, was the second born earlier in the pregnancy than the first? If you went post-term with your first, how early or late was your second? I really don't want to go too post-term with this second baby - I'm about a week from my due date and will be attempting a VBAC. My first was 11 days late - not sure how long they will be comfortable letting me go this time...

DS- 4 days late.

DS was born on his due date. DD was 5 days early.

DS was born on the due date I calculated (and where his measurements put him the entire pregnancy, but the fricking doctor's office wouldn't change the due date they calculated based on a 28 day cycle even though mine was 35 days....) DD was born on the doctor's office due date, which was 1 day after my calculated due date. So, I'd say, both were born at roughly the same point in pregnancy, although according to all official records, DD was born a week earlier gestation than DS.

I don't know yet for me. . . but I know for my mom, her first two were both born on their due dates, and the third was only 4 days early.

Hope you don't have to wait as long with this one as you did your first!

DD1 = 2 weeks early
DD2 = 1 day after due date (OB induced)

Interestingly enough they were the EXACT same weight at birth, 7 lbs. 2 oz! :p Also, I thought it was strange that DD1 is the one who came early as I had always heard the 2nd pregnancy is supposed to be easier/delivery is quicker...but everything was harder with my 2nd!

DD2, 8 days early, membranes stripped the day before. OB thought she was doing me a favor because my due date was Xmas Eve.

DS2 was going to be a vbac attempt but on my due date I scheduled a c for a few days later. That night my water broke and I ended up opting for the c since I was not dialated at all. I did not want to labor for 24 hrs just to end with a c-section.

DS2--evicted 18 days past his due date, pitocin induction resulting in crash c-section due to heart rate decels. Turns out he had the cord wrapped around his neck so tightly that he would have never come out vaginally.

both DD and DS were scheduled inductions. DS was 10 days early, DD 7 days. So, roughly the same, but who knows if they hadn't been scheduled. Both were pretty well baked - didn't even need pitocin to get labor going, and had short labors with both.

Yep, DS was 8 days late and then induced. My water broke at 36 weeks, 4 days with DD (no labor but was induced).

DS2 - spontaneous labour & delivery on his due date, 1 week ealier than the first. Did not expect that at all! :D

DD was 1 day shy of her due date :( (woulda had an awesome birthday if it was on her due date).

I was about 2 weeks late and my lil sis was 2 weeks early.

DS and DD1 were both born at exactly 38 weeks. DD2 was born at 38.5. Both girls were c/sections, but I was in labor with them when I had the c/s.

I can't vote yet as DD2 is due to arrive at the end of August.....but DD1 arrived six weeks early, so I am really keeping my fingers crossed that this next one is much later!! I'm already thinking about it because I started having problems at week 28 and I'm at week 23 now.....

DS and DD were born at 38 weeks 1 day. Neither PG was induced. I went into labor with DS at 38 weeks 0 days and 38 weeks 1 day with DD.

No...With DS1 I was induced at 39 weeks due to GD. DS2 had to be evicted 2 days after his due date because he was a big baby (9 lbs. 7 oz.).

DS1...my water broke 3 days before my due date and he was born 24 hours later. I was induced though b/c my water had broken and the induction failed so he was a c/s.

DS2 was born exactly on his due date (but barely, he was born at 12:17 AM). No induction. VBAC :)

I voted "other" because, yes the second kid arrived earlier.... but so did the third, but I'm not sure it should count since they were twins. (And though they came early, they would have been coming out early no matter what -- DS1 was 40w5d, and they weren't going to let me get to 38w with two in there sharing one placenta.)
