Ok, so I am in love with a very specific pair of flip flops/thongs that I saw on a teacher/librarian at DD#1's school yesterday. I don't know her, yet she's not a complete stranger, so I didn't stop her and beg to know where she got them....

They are black with square silver crystals on the upper. There are 3 rows of square crystals -- not two and not four (I can find shoes with 2 rows or 4 rows). The shoe bottom is like a Teva Mush, NOT like a Havanaias.

similar to these: http://www.endless.com/Yellow-Box-Womens-Thong-Sandal/dp/B002JW6EHA/ref=sr_1_8/?cAsin=B002JW86US&fromPage=search&qid=1272760841655&sr=1-8&asins=B002XGR6SS,B002UZMFBK,B002KRFT48,B002JW6B7I, B002HK4SYK,B002JW9NUA,B002JW9GY8,B002JW86US,B002JV VQ3I,B002JW9QLG,B002JW6EKM,B002JW8ZI6,B002JW69KM,B 002JW66B4,B002JW6DOY,B002JW9W9W,B002JWB8PI,B000RKE 7TS,B002JW7ERE,B002JW2TJ2,B002JVIKMS,B002JW21Y0,B0 02JVKMR4,B002JW1W68,B002JW1ABK,B002JW1Y34,B002JVL2 U0,B002JW5FSE,B002JW9LDE,B002HJYXDM,B002HJYYEU,B00 2HK0HD6,B002HK5BGO,B002HK4L92,B002HJVT9I,B002HJVRW C,B002HJVS62,B002HK4S7W,B002HK0ELQ,B002HK50UG&asinTitle=Yellow%20Box%20Jag%20Thong%20Sandal&contextTitle=search%20results&page=2&size=40&page=2&dept=241745011&node=241745011&nodes=241745011&brands=Yellow%20Box&sort=-product_site_launch_date&colors=519114011

but no pattern on the crystals, just 3 rows of square crystals covering all of the upper.

HELP ME. I must have these shoes. Either that, or I will stalk this librarian and she'll think I'm stranger than I really am....

TIA!

I'm just impressed with how many details you remembered. My short term memory is fairly shot these days. :ROTFLMAO:

I wish I could help!

Dude, just ask her! After complimenting her profusely first, of course. :p

That's what I would do. Cute flip flops are worth any momentary, fleeting awkwardness. Besides, who doesn't like to get compliments about their shoes?

OK, I was bored -- that's the only reason I even noticed the details. It was an hour-long program for pre-schoolers (3 & 4yos). Most of the kids were clingy, but I encouraged DD#2 not to be, so I was just hanging out in a Kindergarten classroom watching other parents deal with velcro kiddos while mine was happy doing circle time.... There isn't a whole lot to look at to entertain myself for an hour in the classroom, without appearing totally uninterested, KWIM? If it had been one of the French Immersion classrooms, I could have at least refreshed my memory, LOL.

Anyway, I was rather intimidated (who, me, you ask?!) because two of the three teachers (1 K teacher, 1 teacher/librarian, 1 learning support teacher) there took one look at DD#2 and asked if she had a sister and then said "Oh, I know who your sister is". Um, yeah. Weird. My girls do not look at ALL alike. Plus, DD#1 is, according to what *I* am told, somewhat shy and reserved at school, a bit bored. Its not like I am hearing that she is a hellion, KWIM? So, I'm not sure *why* they know who she is or ???? DD#1's teacher wasn't part of this program (she was monitoring 2 classes of K's), nor have I seen the three teachers before (so they don't know me).

Anyway, that is a VERY long-winded way of saying, I just do not feel comfortable asking this woman about her shoes. Trust me, I have stopped complete strangers on the street to ask them about their shoes, bag, etc. I'm quite brazen that way normally. I dunno. I just don't want to draw attention to myself with the teachers. Not sure why -- my Spidey sense or something....

Cute, but not them. Definitely 3 rows of crystals and the bottom was like the Teva Mush.

What about these? If the large photo doesn't come up in plain crystal, you can change the photo to enlarge the uncolored ones.

Hmmm, ya know, I'm wondering if I could make some? I have some old pink Havaianas that I could practice on.... I saw black havies around in the stores today. Hmmmm. A trip to Michaels, a glue gun. Hmmmm. Like I have time for crafts. Who am I kidding?! But I'm wondering how long it would take?

They could look more alike than you think... my sister and I always get told we look alike, even though WE think we look completely different (her hair is dark and straight, mine is light and curly, etc, etc). I thought your girls were both little blondes? Or am I thinking of someone else?

You should try it! I would do heat set crystals instead of glue though. They are so easy and no glue mess. I've glittered up tons of stuff for DD with them. I have the Tulip cordless heat setting tool, and glam it up crystals. Love them.

Wouldn't the heat melt the plastic of the flip flop? I can see it working with fabric flip flops though....

They are both blonde. But, DD#1's hair is straight, DD#2's is VERY curly. DD#1 has blue eyes and pasty white/translucent skin. DD#2 has brown eyes and more medium skin. DH and I don't think they look at all alike.

It says you can put them on papier-mache, metal, glass, plastic etc, so I'm thinking the glue wouldn't be hot enough to melt the plastic.

Saw these at my local Bon Ton the other day and thought of this thread. They aren't square but they do have 3 rows.
