My FIL gave us a bunch of grapefruits from his tree. I don't really like plain grapefruit, even with a ton of sugar poured over it. When I searched online for recipes, everything I found was either a salad, which doesn't appeal to me, or calls for pink or ruby red grapefruits. These are regular yellow grapefruits. I have an ice cream maker, but I think a sorbet would be sorta.... too grapefruit-y. Any suggestions of yummy things I can make with them? I'm not much of a cook but I follow directions well.;)
Thanks!

Grapefruit is not a common ingredient for a reason- it's bitter and the acid will curdle dairy. You can do as many things with it as oranges or lemons- eat it, make juice aid type drinks, make marmalade, use the zest, make an icy dessert, toss in a salad. White ones tend to be more bitter, so they are harder to use. Sorry I don't have any slick idea for you. I would likely use it in a salad, with oranges and pineapple to blend the flavors.
