I want to get a water and/or sand table for DS for the summer. We live in Florida, so he can play with it all year.

What do you have and what do you love/hate about it? What is the best price?

We have this one: http://www.amazon.com/Naturally-Playful-Water-Activity-Center/dp/B0000WXGL8/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&s=toys-and-games&qid=1273666587&sr=8-3

I think we got it for $30 on clearance at Aldi last year (year before?). It's great, although I wouldn't pay the Amazon price. I like having the umbrella and it is large enough for several kids to play. We have done sand and water but we more often do just one or the other. Right now it is just for water. The only thing that I wish (and this might not exist) is that the cover was flat so that it could be used as a table to eat on. But maybe that doesn't exist!

i have the same one as pp. We use just sand, no water (we tried both and the sand kept getting dumped in the water!). This was a gift for DS's 2nd b day. His 5th b day is rapidly approaching, and the sand table is something that he continues to use daily in warm weather! And the umbrella is a nice feature.

Agree, don't pay that amazon price. It's definitely available for cheaper.

I have this one as well. My MIL got it for DS1 at Aldi for $49. We've used it for the past 6+ years and everyone loves it. I stopped using the water part in about 2005 and the umbrella broke in 2004, but the rest is still kicking. This reminds me: I need to get some more sand for the beast. :)

Same one as PP's. Used every spring with just sand, summer with sand and water, fall wth sand. My 7 y/o and his friends still use it it as well as the 2.5 y/o and his friends.
Paid $45 at Menards (midwest home improvement chain). I would never pay more than $60 for it - it goes on sale frequently.

You might want to check your Aldi. A friend just told me tonight she bought one just like mine at Aldi and it was already marked down to $45.

We also have the same table......bought it last summer at Aldi. A friend told she has seen the same one there this summer. I think Lowes also has it, but it's $60 or so.
We love it, but we just use it for water. DD has a seperate sand box.

That DIY version is very cool! DH could easily make that, although he probably won't in reality.

Unfortunately we don't have Aldi here, but I will check around for good prices on the Naturally Playful table. I think DS would love that!
