I'm looking for a high quality sandal that DD can use throughout the summer-even without socks. I've got it narrowed down to pediped FLEX and Umi toddler shoes.

Anyone have feedback on these? Also would love to hear about the sizing. Thanks!!!

OH and tips on where to find these at a bargain would be great too :applause:

Pedipeds are my favorites but we also really liked Eccos.

We love our Umi sandals and get compliments on them all the time. So cute, and comfy. I ordered them from 6pm.com for about $17.

DD1 has had both and I personally think the Pedipeds seem more comfortable. The Umi sandals she has have had a stiffer sole (think rigid leather) so they don't seem as padded as the Pedipeds. With that said, DD1 loves the Umi designs (her current favorite pair has a big flower cut-out on each sandal). I buy them when they're on clearance at Amazon.

I have both and I'm not completely happy with either of them.

I love PediPed Originals but the flex is just not flexible enough for me. DD has this one:
http://www.pediped.com/Product/ProductInfo.aspx?id=229
I ordered the correct size but it was too big for her.(3 months back) She wore it couple of weeks back and the area just below her fingers were redish. Due to this and the hard sole I'm not going to let DD wear it.

Umi is more flexible than the PediPed Flex. We have the 2 following pairs:

Umi sandals are pretty, we get complements all the time. She's still wearing them but she's almost outgrowing them.

Still I don't find them flexible enough. They definitely don't feel bare feet. I want sandals more flexible than Umis. I ordered a pair of RileyRoos and waiting for them. Their shoes are very flexible but I don't know how the sandals are yet. If these doesn't work out I'm going to try the Pedoodles or the Preschoolians.

Dream- those are the pedipeds I was thinking of-sounds like you don't recommend them. I was also thinking of these (just wish they had something other than white!):

On the Umi's, can I ask the color of Carousel Hook--is it truly it more pink than red? Looks red in the photo.

It's too bad you find neither that flexible/comfortable for bare feet though. I would think at $40 we could count on that!

Thanks everyone..seems like most prefer pedipeds but also quite a few like the Umi's....
I did pick up a pair of SKR at a steal and found them flexible but boy are they wide! She looked like she had big slippers on!:D

I'm glade you found something you like. I've never tried SKR. Might not fit my DD as she has narrow feet.

Dream-well they do the trick but still not ideal since way too wide, so I am still looking. Did you see my earlier questions on your post (which was really helpul btw..)

Saw ad today for sale at REI including kids Keen shoes for under $40.
Not finding it online, but I want to make a trip to our local store.

Sorry, I missed it.

I have the brown pair, I copied the url when brown was selected, don't know why it just opens the redish one. There's the circle on the brown pair too and I would say its a dark pink, not bright red.
