I have a 10 month old and plan on having another baby next year. I'm already finding it difficult to juggle a diaper bag, squirmy baby and other items. Thought a great solution might be a backpack diaper bag. Wondering what recommendations you expert mamas have on kinds to consider. Prefer one that's not super heavy and is a good quality (but not overly expensive). Please help!

I'm curious about this as well! I have been using a Land's End diaper bag- but it is needing some repair work. :( So am wondering if there is something comparable out there....... hopefully you'll get some other responses!

Land's End has a 100% satisfaction guarantee. Call them and tell them the problem. They'll send you a free replacement! I used to put my kids in their Squall jackets and had a zipper rip in one and they replaced it right away. It was a year and a 1/2 old.

I love my backpack diaper bag and with two kids, it's the best! Messenger bags are too cumbersome, if you bend down (unless you are quick enough and have the presence of mind to throw it behind you) to try and grab a sprinting toddler, it gets in the way.

I don't know what you are willing to spend but here are some links you can start with:

These are very nice bags, but way too expensive for my daughter's budget (as most of her friends).

We bought her the infant seat, stroller, and LOTS of clothes so far. I'm trying very hard to resist buying everything for them. She and her BF need to learn to do this own their own.

Check out the Baby Sherpas.
:yeahthat: Way past diapering stages here and these are still in regular use and still going strong! Costco did have them online if you are a member.

I bought a Skip Hop via Backpack and love it! I have an infant and a 4 year old. I have plenty of room, it's good quality, it looks nice, has tons of storage/organizational pockets, and can easily strap onto a stroller. It's comfortable to wear - not too big or little. The only downside to it is that it doesn't have insulated bottle holders (but has 4 mesh pockets to put bottles. Love this backpack. I had a regular skip hop dash deluxe, and while I have 2 kids this summer - I prefer my backpack!!

You can have Bed Bath & Beyond order it online and if you have a 20% coupon you can use it. I was able to get it at another store for $53.

She would probably agree with the spoiled more that the momma part, but she's closer to thinking that now than she used to be.

It is very difficult though. Kelly has been through a great deal in the last year and has really turned herself around! She was in drug-rehab for 21 days last year and is now on probation. She is doing so very well though. Determined to stay clean and sober (and is doing so!), and taking very good care of herself. She's made lots of mistakes. We want to be supportive without enabling her. It's been a hard road, but God is faithful, and seeing us through.

Thanks for the suggestions, everyone! Like you said, unfortunately, Costco online doesn't have the Baby Sherpas anymore! I just got the Mini Be today (it was the deal a few days ago on Baby Steals) and it is fairly small. Can use it back have to have a back up bag in the car with extra clothes, diapers, etc. Definitely not enough room for a long day or for two kids!

I'll look into the suggestions and hopefully find something that works!

Congratulations to her and more power (and to you too)! :hug5:

By the way, for the momma's still looking for a backpack type diaper bag check out the Columbia Trekster at BRU. They have it in Navy and Silver or Orange and Silver.
Columbia Trekster @ BRU (http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3199292) I saw this at BRU today and it's not bad.

Sometimes, a regular backpack works well! I had a Jansport Equinox (http://www.rei.com/product/806240?preferredSku=8062400026&cm_mmc=cse_froogle-_-datafeed-_-product-_-8062400026&mr:trackingCode=3FD6D293-295D-DF11-BAA3-0019B9C043EB&mr:referralID=NA) from grad school, and used it here/there for baby stuff. Decided to get a new one, and ended up buying almost exactly the same thing. LOVE it! Not only will DH wear it happily, but it has great compartments that open wide, cup holders (not insulated, but holds insulated sippies), and very comfy straps.

YESTERDAY, after all these years, I realized it has adjustable clasps that work for hanging it from my stroller.:cheerleader1: Now I love it even more. It will not be sold/discarded with baby items b/c it is not one!

I just wanted to say I have the Columbia Trekster for DS and I love it! Who would of thought I'd have to go through so many diaper bags before I found one I'm really happy with. I did want to add, that I tend to overpack, so I'm not sure if it would work for two kids (in my case). Overall, I LOVE this backpack though.

I have one from PBK from a few years back and I love it. but, I'm not sure if they still make the style I use. It's the kind that only goes over one shoulder, kind of sideways.

I have the Ju Ju Be Pack a be and love it! It has plenty of room for a change of clothes, 5 diapers each for both kids, snacks, creams, medicines plus the insulated pockets on each side keep things warm/cold for hours! I'm looking to get the BeRightBack for our third little one!

Has anyone used the sling backpack from Similac? I daughter got a certificate for one to pick up at the hospital. Any reviews or advise would be great! I know she'll need one, but I'm thinking it may be a good idea for me to have one in the car, just in case.

Cath_B -- I was just looking at the Columbia Trekster and came back to this thread to see your recommendation on it. Seems like a great price and with the coupon, it's even better! It's not too big, I hope.

I'm fairly new to this posting to threads thing and don't know how to put part of someone's original post in my post.

Several of my friends have gotten these at the hospital and love them.

There is a site, I think it is babysherpabackpacks.com that searches for the best deal. Since the Alpha came out, some places have pretty decent deals on the regular and Shorthaul.

This one is a non-traditional backpack (sling instead) but might work... Ameribag Healthy Back Baby Bag...

Also this is a good one for keeping hands free...the JJ Cole Logic bag...

Cath_B, I'm testing this function! Don't know if I'm supposed to take all that stuff in the html above out or not!

I got the Trekster today at BRU. Only cost me $37.75 after my $5 rewards coupon and the $5 off diaper bags coupon. For that price, I'm certainly willing to try it! It looks like it's a decent size, not sure if it will fit enough for two kiddos but the first is only 10 months old, so it will be a little bit before I need to worry about 2 kids.

LOVE this board! It's absolutely wonderful. Everyone is fantastic, so helpful and it's such a great online community. :love5:
