I know there have been several threads about this, but I couldn't find any about what I was considering. Please help me! I am driving myself crazy between these four options:

1. Lands End Diaper Backpack

Great return policy, but I am concerned that it will be too big. Although this might be nice when there is more than one DC.

2. Vera Bradley LYLAS

Super Comfy to carry, but I might get sick of the pattern.

3. Normal Backpack like LL Bean or Jansport etc

4. Skip Hop Via

DS is 19 months old. I want a backpack so my hands will be free. I don't need to pack a lot.

I am going crazy trying to make this decision. :ROTFLMAO:

I was looking at the LYLAS one in a store today. While it is cute, I had concerns about how it would wash. The outside is laminate, but the inside is just fabric. I would be hesitant to use it as a diaper bag since stuff always spills inside as well as out! I was looking for a [not needed, lol] work bag and felt that spillage might ruin it even for that.

If you look for a regular diaper bag, try to find something with outer pockets for water. I have a Jansport and that worked okay, partly because the sippy cups were always handy. It killed my back when well packed though! I ended up switching to a Baby Sherpa because it stacked the load, had areas outside for sippies, is washable, was super comfy! It has held up well past diapering days. My favorite part to it is the bungy- great for jackets, blankets, or stuffies!
Have you looked at the Sherpas?

This is also a great one, but less traditional. Not as comfy as a sherpa when carried fully loaded for a long outing.

Mamakath - I was thinking the same thing about the LYLAS. I have a JCrew bag that is similar and the laminate cracked after a few uses. I have thought about the babysherpas. They just seem so big. Thanks for the advice about the outside pockets. All good things to know.

I have officially ruled out the LYLAS. Thanks for your help!

I got the Lands End one a couple months ago and have been happy with it. It is a reasonable size and has tons of pockets (almost too many, DH complains he can never find anything in it). The one thing it lacks is a cooler pocket, I think some of the other backpacks offer that. Overall, I give it a thumbs up:thumbsup:

Oh...I forgot to state (although you could tell from my signature) that I have 2 kids....so the Lands End is definitely a reasonable size for me. For 1 it would be a bit large but I really don't think it's ridiculously big.
