For 30% off, I've been going through everything I've even glanced at this season. Many things are OOS in my size (thank goodness).

But... what are your thought on this dress? Should be in the blue print.

I love their jersey - so soft. I have the maxi dress from last year which had a cross over top. This depends on how the style looks on you - the tank top with empire waist would make me look terrible (large chest and stomach) but they are oh so comfy.

Yah, I'm a tad nervous about getting a "are you pregnant?" comment. (Unlike the model in the pic, LOL!)

But, what about the print? I think it's kind of fun but maybe it's actually ugly.

I don't think it's ugly, but it has real "belted sack" potential. I agree with PP, it depends on how that style looks on you. I like the print.

I think it takes a striking woman to pull off an ankle-length jersey dress without looking blowsy. I'm sure you are a striking woman so you're good to go !:cheerleader1:

But I will say, if I had $100 to burn at Boden, that's not where I'd spend it.

If you want something with a little more shape, but also totally soft and comfy,
I bought the "essential summer dress" and I love it. It can be tossed over a bathing suit with flip flops or worn with high heeled sandals and a scarf or jacket to the office. It's also a steal at $46.17 with the 30% discount plus the 3% ebates rebate. If you want something even more structured, I got the Amalfi dress and the Must-Have shift, and they are also beautiful.

See totally different opinions on these things I think that the Essentials Summer Dress looks dowdy, maybe it's the pockets.

I like the OPs original dress and I also like it in the lime/coral color too.

From the essential dress link though it had a little photo of this dress:

I could see myself wearing this maxi dress too in the dark blue:

Last year Target had a great selection of maxi dresses.

I think it may depend on how tall/long-limbed you are. I am relatively short and have short legs and I just can't hear that much print. I end up looking like a walking drapery!

I love the cut of the dress though - - very flattering. Are there any other color options in your size?

OP, I think its a pretty dress. I love the blue and I love the way the top is cut. I wonder what it looks like on! I almost like the looks of it better than the maxi dress, probably because of that cool flower print. Did you see the "dress by age" page? It shows that dress in there somewhere in the slideshow (except now I cant find the slideshow!)

I have mixed feelings about the essential summer dress. I have the blue and now the red (unworn). It does weird things to my body - the waist sits kind of high and is loose, combined with the pleats makes me feel like my gut is huge. But the top portion is so flattering! Im torn! It breaks my heart because its such a great price and I love casual dresses. Has anybody else had that experience?

I think it looks kinda $15 old navyish, not like something you spent $100 on IFKWIM

Thanks everyone! In the end I controlled myself and got NOTHING. Not the dress or any of the other things I had in my cart. :bighand: Yay me... although I am still thinking about all of it, LOL.

I rec'd the essential summer dress as a gift last year - it was cute on top and hung like a sack on the bottom. It had to go back, so I'm not a fan of it, unless Boden has recut it.

katydid, speaking of ON maxi dresses, I tried on on there today which would have been around $15 with the add'l 30% off clearance, LOL!!! But again, I was good and put it back. <phew>

Must. Stop. Shopping!!!!

I know you are past it but I do think it's nice but not original enough for $100. I bought the Printed Beach Dress in blue/green and it's great :)
