I have *no* idea why my meter spins so dang fast most of the time but soon I will http://www.amazon.com/P3-International-P4400-Electricity-Monitor/dp/B00009MDBU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1277257474&sr=8-1

In the event that my meter isn't broken I look forward to becoming enlightened. Onward!

Oooh, please post when you get the gadget! I love this idea and have been thinking about doing some detective work in our place....although, I think I would start with the 6 (yes, 6!) computers that we have in the house!!!

Another thing you can do is shut off all your breakers. The meter shouldn't spin. Then switch each are on and you should notice when starts to spin faster.

I shut off the main yesterday and checked the meter..it was still moving. Very very very slowly but moving. I have read that may be normal or that it sometimes does that for a full rotation and then stops. I didn't watch it that long. I'm going to see how this meter works out but I may try the breaker method, thanks.
