Update--Cha Cha is headed to the ER...

Cha Cha got to the ER and right after they did an abdominal xray he had a huge poop (sorry if TMI). Not long after that, he had diarrhea. I think the severe stomach pain was his stomach trying to push the diarrhea out (again, sorry if TMI). The xray didn't show anything abnormal so Cha Cha and DH are on their way home. Yeah! I'm really glad that is all it was because from the screaming he was doing before he went to the hospital, I was really concerned. I've never seen him that way before.

for a severe stomach ache that has him screaming and writhing in pain. The pain seems to last for a minute or 2 before subsiding for about 5-10 minutes. It's been giong on for an hour and a half. I called the ped who said it sounds like he should be seen at the Children's Hospital ER. He said he wanted DH to take him to the ER. Granted, DH is much better in these situations. He can remain coolheaded- at least he was during every one of my deliveries. But it is so hard to be here at home not knowing what is going on. And of course my mind is imagining the worst...

Cha Cha was with DH this afternoon. They ran some errands together and then got the car washed. He and Cha cha has some popcorn at the car wash (gross!!!) and then DH bought him a Dillybar from Dairy Queen ( have I mentioned that DH is the king of junk food and has no problem feeding it to our children? :irked: )

But whatever. Could you please say a quick prayer that it turns to be gas or something???? pretty please???

Poor mama! It's so hard to be waiting on news and worrying about your baby. Prayers that all is quickly well and no long term health concerns. Gas pain can be severe at times, so I also hope that is all and it will be gone soon!

I hope it's absolutely nothing. I've been freaked out a few times with DS crying in the car from pain in his stomach. I actually stopped at the peds office on the way home from the cabin one time. BOTH times--Gas. Something about sitting in the carseat right after eating. I hope it's something equally benign.

Prayers and PT on the way, hoping it's nothing. Both of my boys had this happen once and I was pretty concerned about possible appendicitis. We waited it out and watched and it just resolved on its own. It seemed different that gas pain(which can also be very painful) so we assumed it was a virus of some kind. Keep us posted!

Oh, so happy it turned out to be nothing. When DD2 was in the ER last month for vomiting bile (at 5mo old) they were doing all sorts of xrays and GI series, you name it to rule out blockage in the intestines. Well she had a huge poop and the next xray looked 100x's better. I was both relieved and embarrassed. Who knew that poop could cause so much trouble!!!

Late to this, Lisa, but so glad to hear Cha Cha is okay.

DQ does the same thing to my DH (wouldn't know about the kids, we avoid the place). We came out of the woods and he HAD to have a shake. You can imagine what happened right after (insert rolling eyes).
