Tips for finding last minute deals?

If it looks like good weather next weekend, DH and I want to take our DDs on a weekend trip in New England or to NYC. we just need a hotel for a couple nights (cheap of course!) We are totally open to any vacation (beach, city, whatever) but I'm so overwhelmed trying to find last minute deals. Any good websites for this?

If you are adventurous, you can always try Priceline. I have used Priceline dozens of times over the last couple of years. You do have to commit to a location first. Hotels.com is a great place to research options. I always cross-reference to the actual hotel site, too. Betterbidding for travel has a lot of tools & hints for getting good deals, too.
