What are you looking for in a bag? Are you going to be using disposable dipes? Do you want something colorful or more plain? Do you want a messenger or a tote or a backpack? Do you want something big or smaller?

I have a skiphop via messenger and a dadgear messenger. I love the skiphop, but sounds like you're not a fan. The dadgears have some nice features, but I don't love the lack of interior pockets (we use this more as our travel bag since it's bigger than the skiphop).

hey pooh bear,

I am petite so i am not looking for a BIG bag, but i do want a spacious bag with enough interior pockets...........yes i am going to use disposable diapers........i would prefer something colourful and printed rather than solid/plain.

Honestly, I liked the bags from DadGear (www.dadgear.com (http://www.dadgear.com); the one I registered for is currently on sale for $30!) but ended up getting a large cotton canvas purse and a "diaper wallet" (like this one but plain: http://www.munchkin.com/products/detail.html?section=prodCategories&ID=10008&pID=1447) from Target. My shower was snowed out, so I had to scramble for a bunch of basics after we brought DD home! (I held off on buying baby stuff because I knew my mom wanted to throw a shower.)

I also stuck a bunch of diapers in a zip-top baggie to keep in the bag at all times as the wallet only holds 4 size 2s and I prefer to have a full pack of wipes rather than having to remember to refill a travel case.

FWIW, I think I may end up upgrading to a LE tote because the canvas is heavier!

The bag that we've gotten the most use out of is actually the freebie (http://www.ecrater.com/p/7893693/similac-backpack-style-diaper-bag)one that we got Similac samples in at the hospital! It's a great size, slings over one shoulder, and I can fit everything we need in it for an average day outing. When we're going to the beach or something then I use one of my other bigger bags, but this is my general one. It has an interior pocket that I keep a changing pad, diapers and wipes in. It came with an insulated bottle bag that fits in the main compartment along with other stuff. There's a zip pocket on the very front that I keep hand sanitizer and Tylenol in. Then there is a pocket on each side of the bag that I can keep tissues and other things in.

I also have a really basic one that my MIL bought through one of her tote bag suppliers at work. I use that for most of our bigger outings.

I have the Fleurville DJ (http://shop.parents.com/show_product/5983/?utm_source=froogle&utm_medium=datafeed&utm_term=5983) bag which I got from GreenBabyBargains.com a while bag. It's kind of a pain; I don't like that you have to wear it across your body. I thought it was going to be more of a shoulder sling style.

My hospital doesn't give out formula samples anymore. So no diaper bags. I got a halo sleepsack swaddler instead. they are trying to be 'Baby Friendly' and part of the initiative is to not give out free formula samples. Even my Dr's office gives out 'Breastfeeding kits' (which makes me crack up, because what do you need already?)

Really (like do they give you an extra...nevermind)???? Baby friendly, huh? Love that. My SIL couldn't BF for medical reasons. Guess she's not 'baby friendly' - luckily her hospital had formula samples or her baby would have been very hungry! Sorry, tangent, not for this thread...
I use the similac one I got from the hospital as our daycare bag.
Neither here nor there.
Anyhooo....

I :love5: skiphop bags. Mainly because of the awesome features - all the pockets - interior and exterior and the shoulder strap, shuttle clips, etc. My via is plain and boring, but so am I. JK. I just wanted something kind of neutral so DH wouldn't balk at it.

But the Skip Hop Dash is reasonable and comes in lots of patterns. I know Arivecchi got a cute one to match whichever stroller she got last ;).
Here's a few:

The dadgear is bigger, so if you're petite, I wouldn't go with it. Also, really, the lack of interior pockets is really disappointing. I have to put other little bags in it to keep things separated.

I have a PPB bag (hand me down). Hate it. Why would you attach a changing pad to a bag?

JJBs are cute, but I think pretty expensive comparatively to skip hops, especially the messengers. I'm sure someone's going to flame me for that...
:)

ETA - someone, I think maybe Arivecchi said she likes her baby sherpa. I think that's a backpack....

JJB bags are heavy! They have really great materials, but all those metal pieces and magnets add weight. I have one that hasn't even been used, but it's just too cute to part with.

We have the LLBean diaper bag which is super light and holds everything we need. My husband doesn't mind carrying it either since it's green. The gay dads on Modern Family have the same bag. I checked the website though, and it doesn't look like they're selling it now (?)

We have the StorkSak Aubrey bag. It's a messenger bag with lots of pockets inside, and two insulated bottle pockets on the sides. It's a unisex bag, and looks like a normal bag that I could use for work/school. If I could change one thing about it, it'd be the material. It's very thick and structured, so I can't cram as much stuff in it as I'd like to (maybe that's a good thing). I'm considering getting the StorkSak Emily bag for this reason.

I have had a couple of diaper bags and my absolute fave is my Skip Hop Dash in Uptown Stripe. The size and price are just right and it looks fab!

Maybe they do something different for the formula feeding moms. They definitely don't give out free formula to bfing moms though. I'm really not judging anybody. I was actually pretty surprised. There is a whole certification process: http://www.babyfriendlyusa.org/eng/index.html

Did you try the Pink Room over at the JuJuBe website? Lots of moms there are selling their JJBs for much less. You should keep lurking over there, you'll eventually find one you like at a great deal.
