I cannot afford to buy the PB Daily, even just the pieces I need.I want a white board calendar and mail/key holder for sure. Maybe other pieces. Ideas?

You might want to try Hobby Lobby. I've seen cute items there that look similar to PB. :) Target may have some variances, too!

At first glance it makes me think of simple frames filles with the white board, coad board etc. The shelves and hooks may be more chalenging.

I just made my kids french memo boards for their stuff. It was vaery simple and used artist canvases for the base.
