DS is 23 months and he really does not like it when I brush his teeth. He does his own, but mostly chews on the bristles instead of brushing. Some friends recommended electric kids toothbrushes and kids toothpaste. Are there any types/brands of either you recommend for this age? Thanks!

We use Tom's of Maine in Silly Strawberry for toothpaste.

No suggestions on the toothbrush, we do regular not electric.

We've been using Tom's of Maine, but all three had iffy checkups this month. I decided to try Crest/Colgate and see what happens. Our pedo taught us a way to brush we've never used, and I think it going to help. Parent sitting on floor, kid on back with head near adult's lap - flat on the floor is working best for us. I think we're reaching the backs of the teeth better this way.

DD is using Oral B Stage 3, but that will be too big for your son so I would do stage 1 or 2. At that age DD used a stage 1, and the Orajel flouride free toothpaste, which we used until DD could spit on her own, which was just a few weeks ago. We are trying Tom's of Maine now because she didn't care for Crest.
