Ryan Steven arrived last night at 6:37pm, 7 lbs 3 ounces, 19" Long.

He's doing well and we're trying to get nursing established, but wasn't able to nurse right away because he was stressed and needed to O2. But he's doing much better this morning and got him latched on during the night for a bit.

I went to the Dr Monday AM for a labor check (5 min apart since 2am) but was only 2cm, etc. They sent me home (darn it, it was a perfect set up since i had just gotten DS1 to the first day of camp, DH was w/ me, DS1 had a sitter lined up for the afternoon, etc). We went home; DH went to work and i was tempted too but decided I'd just rest, go get my US to measure for fluid, etc. Went to the maternal/fetal center (it's off site), did the US and the fluid was low, again. From there we did the NST and the Dr came in to say, "You're going to L&D now....don't stop for lunch, etc." So i made a few calls and drove myself to the hospital, except we'd put my bags in DHs car that morning! He got there about an hour after I was settled in.

Wasn't able to walk the halls or use the birth ball because i had to be monitored, the baby had to be monitored internally etc. I was SOOO glad to have that epidural! I think i had the epi around 4pm and then pit was started, so overall not too bad. The anest. and the nurse swore this was a big baby (Though 2 weeks ago on the US they said 7.5lbs) but alas he's a peanut. DS1 was 6 lbs 13 oz.

DS1 will meet his new brother later on but he sounds really excited!!!

Sounds like we'll have quite a slew of visitors today which we didn't have at all with DS1! I've been up and around and looking forward to a shower soon!
