Opting out of mailed credit card offers

Has anyone done this successfully? I am shredding at least 10 offers a week between DH and I.

yes, I opted out a couple years ago and haven't received any cc offers in the mail in a long time.

I did it but DH has not. We still get a ton of offers but they are all for him. I would say it was sucessful for me....now I need to do it for him!

yes, I just got our yearly credit report and noticed its listed with a date it ends (several years from now) I still get credit card offers occasionally but they are from organizations I'm associated with (alumni fund raising cards) I've gone from daily credit offers to about 1 a week.

I had looked for this option a few years ago when I did the FCC's telephone opt-out for solicitors and couldn't find it.
I hate the waste and having to shred things from the mail every day--you'd think they would figure it out that I'm not going to go for any of their offers after 12 years of adulthood not responding to a single one!
