Hi, I'm a newbie, and sorry for what might be a silly/obvious question! I was just wondering when you noticed your belly button going from innie to outie during your pregnancy? I'm at 22 weeks in my first pregnancy, was "average size" when I got pregnant, and have gained about 12 pounds so far. Thanks for any insight to quell my curiosity!

The top of the uterus normally reaches the belly button at 20 weeks & grows a cm per week thereafter until you are due. So probably in the next couple of weeks. I am 31 weeks & mine is still not completely an outie. It kind of pops back & forth.

Not everyone's belly button is an innie either.

mine never did the first time.........and I'm not sure this time. I'm 32 weeks and it's still pretty much a flat line.

mine didn't either, although it was stretched so much and that too asymmetrically.

Thanks for all great info! I'm learning so much from everyone's posts on all the different threads.
I have worked in an extremely male-dominated profession for about 10 years since college and I move a lot (6 times in the last 9 years). so--I have very few girlfriends to ask these questions! It's so nice to have these boards to read :)

At almost 22 weeks, mine is becoming flat, not an outie.

I'm 32 weeks and have become an outie. I did with both other pregnancies as well.

Mine popped maybe at week 25 or so? It was flat for a while, then would pop when Baby is right up against my belly or when I'm full. Now I'm a full-fledged outie - it feels funny. :)

I'm around 34 weeks and mine is flattened out, same as with first pregnancy. It gets weirder looking when DC is pushing it out alien-style.

I'm definitely an outie & I'm 20-something weeks along. My hubby says that he can tell that I'm an outie while I'm wearing a fitted shirt, and it's embarrassing. It's the giveaway to a stranger that I'm pregnant. The first time around with my son, I think my belly button didn't pop out until towards the very end.

No problem! Several of us are due in November, and this is a great resource to ask your questions. FWIW, my belly button was an innie and now it's flat. Also went from vertical to horizontal. Pretty funny.

I fully expected a "pop-up-timer" look with my innie but didn't get one.

Part of me is disappointed while part of me is relieved.

We'll just have to see what happens with the next DC!

I'm no help. I have an outie. I don't remember when it popped out and stretched out with my two previous pregnancies and this one is twins, so I'm sure it popped out even earlier. It's definitely out now and shows through my shirt. It doesn't bother me other than my 3.5 year old thinking it's a button to push.

Loved reading all the other replies too, as I thought to share my view of it; well, used to be an innie, and I was dreading it becoming an outie, then it went flat 3/4 of the way down, and only the top became an outie...imagine that. And that is how it remained after getting my belly back (well, most of it anyways;) and that is the way it is now at 13wks preg. Will see what surprise expects me this time around; will keep you posted:D

I'm 40 plus weeks and mine is pretty flat, but does stick out just a little bit. Not like what you think of as an outie though.

Never popped, just sorta streched. I could push it out if I wanted and can sort of retain that ability. I have a pretty deep innie.

My bellybutton never popped. I'm an innie, stayed an innie.
