Generally what time do you wake up in the morning? Are weekends or non-working days different for you?

Is summer different than when school is in? I guess there are a lot of variables but lets say recently....what time are you waking up?

You should have an option that says, "Not up to me, when the children wake me!" :rotflmao:

I voted 6-7am. Sometimes it's before 6 though, but we try to get them to stay in their rooms and play quietly (haha) until their alarm clocks go off at 7am. Some days it works, some days not.

This doesn't change on weekends/vacation, although I wish it would. As I said, it's when DDs wake us and they do not yet understand the joy of sleeping late.

So if I get up at 5, how should I vote?

between 5-6 on weekdays. I have to leave the house around 7am for work.
on weekends its usually about the same time (the kids wake us up), but sometimes DH lets me sleep late and then I might sleep till 8!

around 8. DH takes care of DS who wakes up between 7 and 8 am. It's a mad rush for me from the time I'm up, so DH let's me get those extra winks. DDDDH! Besides, he's an early riser. I also get to work a bit on the later side, and work late, so, everything is shifted.

I haven't need an alarm clock in 7 years. :)
Ds is an early riser...however I've trained him to not wake me up before 6. So far this summer he's letting me sleep until almost 7...which has been really nice.

I guess I do have overlapping times...but if you get up at 5 exactly, I'd say between 5 and 6AM... :)

This is so true!

BTW, when do kids prefer to sleep later vs wake up early? I suppose that happens when they start school (kinder/1st grade vs. preschool)...you know when they *need* to get up early?

when working it's between 5 and 6. Even on maternity leave it's still that time because DD2 sleeps through the night and I get up to pump sometime between 4:30 and 6:00 am. I usually try and go back to bed until 7 or whenever one of my daughters wakes me up first. DD1 is usually up by 6:30.

As a SAHM I do have the ability to live by my motto..."If the sun's not up, I'm not up."
I get ds1 off to school on my mornings then come home and get ready then get ds2 ready. I wake up on these days around 7-7:15. Weekends or my sleep in days, usually 8-8:30.

Depends on if it's a work day (5:15), no work but school (6:15 am) or everyone's off (round 8am).

i'm a SAHM, so it varies..it's whenever DS wakes me up. :) but i voted 8-9am, bc that is when i usually get up for the day. this morning DS woke up at 8:30a, to that was great. sometimes he wakes up at 6am for a feeding, but goes right back to sleep till 8 or even 9. occasionally he will wake up for the day around 7 or so, so i'll just bring him and a boppy into bed, and he will usually sleep or nurse there in the bed with me for at least an hour. yes, i am pretty lazy. i hate getting up early. so does DH. DH works from home so that easily gives him an extra hour to sleep in. to our defense though, we usually go to bed after midnight.

i'm lucky that my DS doesn't seem to be an early riser, at least so far (knocking on wood!). i guess all of us suck at getting up early. should be interesting once i go back to work and DS goes to school!

5:15 on a running day, 5:45 on a non running day. Whenever the kids get up on weekends.

My son wakes us up every morning. It is usually between 6-7am.

We aren't late sleepers anyway so if I could sleep as late as I wanted,
it would still only be until 8am, if that.

6-6:30 365 days a year... no matter what, because DS wakes up at 6 am, if he sleeps in "late" that would be 6:20-6:30.

WAH days and weekends at 5:30

The girls usually wake up right around 7:00. Sometimes a few minutes before, sometimes a few minutes after.

However, I usually put a show on in my room for them to watch while I doze until about 7:30. :bag

Ouch. 4:30 counts as the middle of the night in my book. I'd have to be in bed by 8:30pm to get enough sleep. How do you get things done in the evening and/ or go on dates?

During the days that I have to work, I wake up at around 5am. On the other days, its around 6:30ish (my son is my alarm clock). Then on weekends, I usually sleep till about 7:30. The kids are good about playing by themselves for a bit until both DH and I get up.

Used to be we all woke around 7. But, lately, DD has decided that she would like to experience the world at 5:45, so we are all experiencing that now.

I voted before 5am, because DD gets up around 4:30 a.m. I gotta work on that!

during the school year we get up at 7:30. During the summer I get up when DS2 comes in and wakes me... usually around 8am. As the summer goes on we will probably end up sleeping later. I remember towards the end of the summer last year one morning I woke up to 2 boys in my bed and saw 9:50 on the clock!!!! Some days both of my boys sleep till around 8 or so... some days my older DS will get up earlier. DS1 is almost 9 and he is super quiet and considerate... usually just goes out to the living room and turns on the tv or gets on the computer and waits for his little bro and I to wake up! Love him for that!

Between 6:30 and 9:00 - depends on when the baby decides to start the day.

3YO is usually up around 8:00 if baby isn't up, but he's been known to sleep in a little too.

6YO has slept in since he gave up naps at 2. In the summer when bedtime is 9, I have to wake him at 9 to get places. If we've been really busy, I've let him sleep until 10. He's rarely out of bed before 8:30. School will mean leaving the house at 8:00 - we are in for a world of hurt.

Now? 15 to 5AM four days a week. I stretch by doing a 12 minute yoga video, drink water, eat a little breakfast and then I am out the door for bootcamp. I love it! I am so happy to be done with an intense workout while my kids are still asleep, come home with lots of energy that carries me into work and helps my kids too (I read to F when I get back from boot camp first thing) On weekends, I am usually up around 6:30-7AM.

I have decided to continue doing AM bootcamp style work-outs for at least the next year.

On weekdays I get up at 7:30 to make DS1's lunch for either school or camp. DS2 cosleeps and usually wakes up soon after me when he senses I'm out of the bed, but if he stays asleep till 8:00 then I'll usually go back to bed with him after DS1 goes to school/camp. Then we'll sleep till about 9:30.

On weekends DS2 usually sleeps till about 8:30-9:30 so I sleep till then and then DBF usually takes DS2 out of the room so I can sleep another half hour or so.

We did just get darker curtains in our bedroom and that seems to trick DS2 into sleeping later! We had white curtains before and now we have dark brown. The other day he slept till 10:30!

I get up when DD wakes up........esp. now that I'm pregnant, I sleep as much as I can.
She usually is awake by 8.
There are mornings when we (or I) need to be out the door early, so I get up and get ready, along with everything we need, so we're out the door on time.

DS is up every morning between 5:30-6. so that is when we wake. no matter the season or day of the week.

DH usually gets up with him, so i lay there for a while longer. but pretty much never got back to sleep.

i dream of when i can sleep until 7 or 7:30.

I normally get up between 5 and 530 on workdays and whenever DD wakes up on the weekends. Thankfully, she is a great sleeper and oftens sleeps until 8 or 9 on Saturdays!! :bighand:

Too early! When I am working I get up at 5:00. Days I am home, I get up with DS2 which is usually between 5:30-6:30. I am not a morning person and get spoiled by DS1, who doesn't get up for the day until 7:30 or so.

All 3 of my children insist on waking up shortly after 6 am. no matter what day of the week it is, Summer vacay or not :( Doesn't matter what I do, that's when they're up.

If I had my way, I wouldn't be up until 9AM.

I voted 'other', since I spend almost every night awake from 2:-4:30 without fail. I usually fall back asleep around 5. For now, DH and I have an arrangement: He takes DD down for breakfast with him and lets me catch up on sleep until 7ish, when he has to get ready for work. (Such a sweetie!!!)

6-630am the rest of the week to run/gym/etc before the kids get up (or else it won't happen!) :)

I'm usually up a bit before 5. It's quiet in my house then and I can get some good 'me' time in before the girls get up. I love my quiet mornings!

I am a late to bed, late to rise person and so far, my SAHM schedule has allowed me to indulge that. I go to bed around 2 am. During the school year, I wake at 8 am. In the summer, I wake after 9 am unless DS wakes before that. The girls are up before that and DS usually sleeps until he hears me walking around (he would like to nap for 3-4 hours a day, but that doesn't happen with two older siblings so he makes up the sleep in the mornings).

Well during the work week I am up at 5. But younger DD is almost always awake by 6/6:15 and older DD is not long afterwards. My kids have never been ones to sleep in.

DD rises between 5:30-6:00 like clockwork, no matter what time we put her down in the evening. I try to fall asleep between 10-11 to get my much needed 6+ hrs.

I get up at 7:30 on weekdays and about 9 on the weekends. DH is an early riser, so he gets up with the kids everyday (well except father's day and his birthday). He leaves for work at 7:30 during the week and he wakes me up just as he is leaving. On the weekends, he usually takes them to the park or out in the yard until 9/9:30 when I get up. I stay up late at night and don' get to sleep until 1am usually. I also work a few evenings a week and don't get home until after midnight-so after I wind down-it's usually after 1am when I finally get to bed. I'm miserable if I have to get up early and it tends to ruin my day.

Between 5a & 6a every day, including weekends and even when I don't want to.

DD wakes to nurse around 5-5:30a; on my in-office day, I need to be out the door by 6:15a or I sit in traffic.

Also, DD takes meds every 6hrs; 6a is her 2nd dose of the day.

Weekdays between 7-8 am.
Sat 9-10 am - DH and Dd on their own and they actually make me breakfast!
Sun very random, depending on what we have lined up for the day.
