We will be in Quebec in August and I want to pick up some Leapster games in French for DS. He is starting to get into his Leapster, and since he speaks only French with DH, I would like to get him some games to help reinforce the language.

Are Leapster games in French readily available in Quebec? I'm thinking they are, but not sure.

There's a category for "French leapster" on the Canadian TRU website. Unfortunately, like many Canadian versions of US store sites it's a completely useless portion of the site that just takes you to this week's flier if you click on it. I do know that they sell lots of Leapfrog stuff there because I've seen it in-store. This is probably your best bet.

Chapters/Indigo online seems to sell the system, but not the DVDs or whatever you use for it, and it's out of them at that. I suppose you might also try Zellers, but again, they'll only let you view the flier. I was able to find this: http://www.walmart.ca/details?assetId=65656&fromSearch=true at Walmart.

Nothing came up under "leapster" at Renaud-Bray, but "leapfrog" produced these results: http://www.renaud-bray.com/Recherche.aspx?langue=fr&words=leapfrog&type=1&wbgc_iNo=109&supersection=8 I haven't noticed leapster stuff in store, but their store has TONS more than their website mentions, so you might take the chance and check it out.

The only other big French store I might check out is Archambault, http://www.archambault.ca/archambault-ACH-fr-ct though they're mostly a music store.

HTH - we don't have a Leapster so I don't know much about them.

TRU's Canadian site is all messed up today for some reason (its a holiday here).

Here are their French LeapFrog products: http://www.toysrus.ca/refinement/index.jsp?moduleType=Brand&categoryId=2567269&f=PAD&fg=Brand&fv=Brand+Name+Secondary%2FLeapFrog&fd=LeapFrog

They definitely sell the French Leapster cartridges at TRU online. I haven't seen many at their B&M stores, but I'm waaaay out in BC. I would assume that that is what they carry in their Quebec stores. You could call and ask.

HTH

Thanks so much!!! I will send some examples to MIL and ask her to look around for them. We have TONS of Spanish language toys here in Florida, but absolutely nothing in French. I plan on taking advantage of our visit to stock up on French toys/books/movies for DS.
