Is there really a difference?

In the store today - holding up a 2T and a 24 month of the same brand - I couldn't tell any difference at all.

Sometimes I have noticed the same thing!! However, in some brands I noticed that 24M is shorter and wider and 2T is narrower and longer.

I asked them at Carter's once and they said their 2T is longer in the sleeve and the bottom of the shirt and the pants.....and a touch wider.
When I held up a 24month and 2T top I did notice this difference.

But in some brands I don't think there really is much of a difference.

DD is a very skinny 27 month old and she can't wear any 2T on bottom. Just a mix of 18 and 24 months. But on top, 24 mo. and 2T seem the same.

I asked the same question at Carter's and they told me the difference was, "One pound and one inch." HTH!

I noticed the same slight difference in the carters stuff when I held up 24 mos sleeper next to the identical 2T sleeper..

Maybe thats why Childrens Place doesnt have 2T! They go from 24months to 3T.

As far as I remember there was no difference in most store's (e.g. Target) 24m and 2T. HOWEVER, the only store, where I saw the difference was Carter's. Not sure about "one pound one inch", but there was a marked difference in pant length. DD outgrew their 24m pants by height when she was about 20 months old; as for their 2T pants - she could wear those until she was 2 1/2, even longer.

TCP used to have a 36m size - not anymore!
