Can anyone suggest a swimsuit, or type of swimsuit, for someone who's small on top? Prior to nursing, I was a 34C, now I'm more like a 34A. The top of my current suit, a leftover from pre-nursing days, has a deep plunge which only emphasizes the lack of cleavage. Sigh :( I tried on some LandsEnd suits the other day but didn't fill out the cups so the resulting shape was not good. Does anyone other than Victorias Secret make wonderbra type tankinis? Their online stock is pretty low. Not aspiring to look like one of their models, I'd just like to look more balanced on top.

Did you try different sizes at LE? One size made me look wacky, but the next size down was a totally different story. I LOOOOVE my new LE suit.

same problem here. I found a tankini at my local macys where the top had a push up type pad in it, though it does not have an underwire.

I am a 32A, barely. I find that most of Lands' End's suits are too covered up for me - they are cut so high that they make me look flatter. I find what works best for me is a halter cut, pretty low-cut but enough material on the sides to keep it from being inappropriate. The sort of thing that people with fuller chests would be spilling out of - might as well flaunt it. I have found some good suits at Eddie Bauer before, but I lost some weight last year and splurged on a couple of suits from J Crew. I got skirted bottoms, but halter bikini and tankini tops. The tankini had a ruffle on the top to add a little fullness also, plus I ended up adding pads - Nordstrom sells some great pads made for swimwear to fill you out.

Oh, and I know this is totally unsolicited, so forgive me, but push-ups and chest presses have done WONDERS in giving me a little muscle in the chest area and creating some appearance of cleavage where there really is NONE.

Oh, thanks for all the suggestions!! All advice appreciated, had no idea pushups and chest presses might help. I have today off and will be hitting Eddie Bauer, JCrew, Macys, LE, and Nordstroms! The smallest LE size I tried was a 4, but I was in a rush, hopefully I'll be able to find a 2 to try. Maybe the pads from Nordstroms would help too.

Ive had that problem my whole life. Sigh

I like jcrew suits and victorias secret suits. Other than that I would just look around for a bandeau and push up top top styles. I found those are really cute flat chested. The one I got this year is bandeau, which is so much better than the halter styles I had gotten in the past - no tan lines

Oh thanks, yes, I've had the bandeau top style in the past, glad to know those would work too.

Tons of sizes. I would read their sizing guide carefully (some come in EU sizes but they explain the conversions), and measure using their tips (also found on their website). I found the measuring tips with accompanying REAL pictures of REAL boobs VERY helpful and got an accurate measure of my size (which is NOT what I thought it was!).

i think i've looked at at least twenty swimsuits at breakoutbras and so far have only found 1 that even went down to a C. Everything seems to only come in sizes D and up. please let me know if i'm missing something!

Are you looking for a one-piece or two-piece or tankini? This bikini top comes in lots of small sizes:

Oh I should have said I'm looking for a tankini. I did see what you were saying about the measurement guide on Breakout Bras. According to them, and to the fitter at Nordstroms, I'm a 32C. Although the band felt really tight and uncomfortable, hopefully it will stretch out as promised.

Well, I found a suit at Eddie Bauer online that I really like but unfortunately it's out of my size. Eddie Bauer and JCrew no long have suits in their stores. Next year I won't procrastinate swimsuit shopping until July. So I've gone with the LandsEnd tankini I tried previously, thanks to the insert pads from Nordstroms. Those are great. (I also happened upon similar pads at Walmart yesterday.) I'm thinking about ordering a couple of other suits from Victorias Secret and Patagonia. Although, after spending two days staring at myself in a swimsuit--a (padded) sportsbra under a rashguard sounds like quite a good idea.

Thanks to everyone again!

I have this style top from Old Navy http://oldnavy.gap.com/browse/product.do?cid=54744&vid=1&pid=731817&scid=731817202

They also carry a tankini. http://oldnavy.gap.com/browse/product.do?cid=54744&vid=1&pid=747917&scid=747917162

The halter type top is great and I'm about a 34A. It has removable padding but I use the padding. ;)

I've also had good luck with Gap swimwear for my small boobs. Gap also has a similar style halter top http://www.gap.com/browse/product.do?cid=39739&vid=1&pid=706062

and a tankini. http://www.gap.com/browse/product.do?cid=39739&vid=1&pid=706065
