View Full Version : Light to have IN the bed?

5.5 year old DS has recently been feeling very scared at night. We have 2 night lights in his room and a small light on in the hall. When we put a flashlight in bed with him the other night he seemed to feel a lot better. However, he ends up playing with the flashlight.

Any ideas for a small, dimmish, battery powered light that would rest on the bed? We turn it off when he falls asleep.

Thanks!

p.s. I got some glow sticks and he likes having one under the covers!

Can you leave the light on? DS has a light in his room on a dimmer. From time to time we leave it more on than not when he asks. He does go to sleep. It isn't ON ON just brighter than a night light.

The Mobi Lite looks perfect! Does the cord for the rechargable one come off so it doesn't have to be in the bed with him?

Thank you all :)

ETA: Never mind...now I see that it rests on a charger (duh!) Thanks so much for this suggestion!

Yep, rests on the charger. I've had 2 and they can be a bit finicky though.

I am reading the reviews on Amazon and it sounds like a number of people aren't too happy with the inconsistent charger. Should I get the battery one?

ETA: Now I am looking at the KinderGlo brand since there seem to be fewer charger problems.

We ended up with the Kinderglo T Rex which DS loves:

Especially impressive was that when I emailed customer service to ask if I should run down the battery between charges, I got a very persnal response (from the owner, I think) about what he does with his own daughter's light.
FWIW: don't put it back on the charger every time and periodically run down the battery by putting it on continuous color changing mode.
