Have gone from a 32D to a 36D. Pregnancy not yet over. Milk not yet in. I am frightened.

Yeah, try going from a 34B (small B at that) to a 36DD...at barely 22 weeks in. I guess the one consolation is that it's a good sign for BF later down the road. I had a friend whose boobs never changed size and she had to FF b/c of really low supply. I know it's not a hard/fast rule, but there is some science behind it.

You're probably looking at F or G material once your little one arrives. Just preparing you! :)
Start looking into the Bravado tanks and bras.

I was a 34C/D and am now in a Bravado large, which is around a 38DD or so (last time I was measured, that was my size, but I was only 14 or 15 weeks then.)

After weaning the other two times, I was back in my prepregnancy bras, a little smaller actually than how I'd started out.

Ok, this is the ONE thing that I loved about being PG. I went from a 34B to a 36D. I finally got boobs! It was so different. I have to say, now that I've returned toa 34C, I loved it. Now, back to my deflated reality.......

I'm with you...loved my pregnancy/breast feeding boobs! 36B to 38C/D. Now I've deflated to a 36A. A!!! Ugh. If I ever decide to get implants, at least I know what I looked like with a C/D! :)

I was a 34B, at my biggest I can be a scary 36-38E. The last few times were different because I was nursing when I got pregnant. So I didn't get markedly bigger during pregnancy, only when my milk came in.

This isn't really true - pregnancy breast size changes are related to pg hormones. Women who are unable to BF will still have breast size changes when pg. And women whose breasts don't change much in size when pg will have breast size changes post partum and nurse like champs (spoken from experience)!

I think I'm the only one whose boobs pretty much stayed the same size during pregnancy. I'm small to begin with. They only got slightly bigger during breastfeeding, but not enough to change bra size.

I think smaller women probably don't have as much change in size? My size didn't change much during the first pregnancy, and I was slightly bigger during BFing the first time (no supply problems at all despite this!). The second time, my size did change a little more during pregnancy, and my bra size has changed more during nursing too.

Ugh! One of my most not favorite topics. I was very happy a 32C pre-pregnancy (and a B!!! at my lower weight), went up to a 36D-ish towards the end of the pregnancy, and once I delivered and during the first few months of nursing was a whopping 34G! It was NOT fun! I have yet to get back to my pp bra size, though I'm fairly close at a 32D in most brands.

But don't panic yet. MANY women go up a size or two in their band during the pregnancy because the ribcage expands when you're pregnant - this usually goes down once you deliver. The cup size expansion post partum is related to nursing, but not to how effectively you'll nurse or not, or to your supply. I've got plenty of friends that were A and B cups that had more supply than Ds and higher. And some women don't get much larger at all, nursing or not. A larger cup size is mainly an indication of how much of a PITA it's going to be to buy tops and bras for awhile. The tops in my wardrobe span 4s to 16s. Not weight-gain related.

It's very hard now while you're still pregnant to predict where you'll end up post-partum, but just try to be prepared (with lists of where to buy this and that) - but don't panic  If you search here - or start another thread - the mamas here can tell you all the places to buy larger bras and nursing tanks.

Breast size definitely has no bearing on breastfeeding success. I got the biggest with my first pregnancy (I stopped looking at sizes after hitting "F") and I had flat nipples and latch issues galore. Luckily, no issues the second problem but that was partially because I knew about how to handle flat nipples (I heart Ameda shells.)

I think it's one of those unfair things in life. I like being a 34C and don't appreciate being a 38DD or bigger (and heard horror music playing in my brain when I got up to a 38F the first time)...women who are As and Bs might not mind a big boost, but often don't get it. Sigh.

The first pregnancy I went from a 36C to a 36DD. I didn't change in my second pregnancy except they were fuller. I remember waking up at night when my milk was coming in a thinking to my self that I now have porn boobs. They have lost their fullness though. :crying:

It's possible that since only your band size has changed you won't get too much bigger in the cups once your milk comes in. I think your ribs really expand during pregnancy to adjust for the extra fluid and such..........I tried on one of my nursing bras the other day and it actually feels too tight on my right now at 8 months pregnant, so my band size must have gone back down after DD was born......because I am wearing the same pregnancy bras now that I did with DD.....

I went from a 36B to a 36 D/DD when my milk came in.......and based on how things are progressing, I will probably be the same with this DD.

I'm normally a 32 barely B and have gone up to a 36 full C. I find that the full C is just too much for my small frame. I look way too top heavy. I'd be happy with a full B. Ha ha.

Anyway, I breastfed both of my two girls for two years each. I didn't have leaking problems, but I had enough milk to keep my babies/toddlers happy and growing. I plan on breastfeeding my twins when they come as well.

Notice how I didn't say your breast HAD to change/grow in order to have adequate milk supply, rather that for some women, it's a good sign. I'm a PCOSer, and so is my friend (who had inadequate milk supply even while pumping, taking supplements, etc). She commented that her breast size never changed during pregnancy, which is a clinically documented symptom associated with PCOS-related low milk supply.

From breastfeeding.org:
In her master's thesis, Marasco describes women with documented lactation failure and their commonalities, focusing on infertility issues and related endocrinopathies. She elucidates that many of these mothers experience insufficient mammary development, with wide-set uneven breasts that do not grow during pregnancy. Consistent with Marasco's characterization, my own first pregnancy yielded almost no change in my breasts and a low milk supply. My second pregnancy (after which I breastfed successfully), I saw both more prominent veining and darkening of the areolae, and I experienced a one cup size increase after delivery.

For those of us PCOSers who plan on BF, it's encouraging to see growth, whether or not those w/out this condition experience success BF success and have no substantial change in breast size. That's all.

Mine didn't change at all during pregnancy and they're still the same now (exclusive breastfeeding for 11 months and counting!). They may have gotten a teeny-weeny bit bigger, but definitely not noticeable. I was small to begin with and hopefully won't get smaller when we finish breastfeeding.
