Has anyone ever made one of these? Like the ones they sell in the bakery often decorated for birthdays, etc? I have this recipe but have never made it before and don't want to do a trial run:

Do you think the dough is just like regular cookies and you just kind of mush it together and mold it into a thin circle? The directions don't seem clear to me.

I do something similar for DS birthday each year. I press tollhouse dough into a pizza pan and bake it up that way. It works great.

I've made cookie cakes before. I followed this Mrs. Fields' recipe for butterscotch chocolate chip cookie bars b/c it requires an 8X8 pan but I used a heart shaped cookie cake pan (Wilton, from Target). Came out great!

I wonder if you could just try that by mushing the dough together and forming a giant cookie if you want a free form cookie vs a pan.

:yeahthat: My pizza pan is a bit on the smaller side, so I don't put all of the cookie dough in.

So is this dough solid like regular chocolate cookie dough? I may try this if it is solid enough to 'press' into a pan. I have a small pizza pan I could use or just make a circle on a big rectangle pan.

Yep, it's just like regular cookie dough. It has a really yummy flavor too. Oh, and I skip the pecans.

I made this for DD1 birthday earlier this month and it worked out great. I spread it onto a cookie sheet like she says on foil and shaped it how I wanted it. It tasted so good I wish I had made another one. I guess it's a little different than regular cookie dough because it all bakes very evenly.
