I'm contemplating splurging on this pair of Frye clogs: http://www.endless.com/FRYE-Womens-Belted-Harness-Mule/dp/B000IVAZ9M/ref=sr_1_7/?cAsin=B000IV6PPU&fromPage=search&qid=1280177928819&sr=1-7&asins=B00352KFXC,B001VNBRJ8,B001VNBRRK,B001VNBRPM, B001VNBRMA,B001VN2OHM,B000IV6PPU,B00352KECE,B001VN 2O3G,B00352KFQ4,B001VN2NRS,B00352KEF6,B000IV6P7I,B 00352KE60&asinTitle=FRYE%20Belted%20Harness%20Mule&contextTitle=search%20results&page=1&size=40&node=242309011&nodes=242309011&brands=FRYE&sort=shoesbrowserel2.

But, this would be my big fall wardrobe splurge so I'd really appreciate any feedback on Fryes. Comfortable? Durable? How do they fit? Would I have to wear socks with these or would the leather soften up enough to wear them without?

Thanks!
Catherine

Well I took the plunge so I guess I'll find out soon enough. Bing cash back softened the hit to the cc at least.

Sorry, didn't see this yesterday. I have a pair that I bought at the Rack just over a year ago. They're not a closed back like you linked too, but similar to the ones with the buckles on the same page. I LOVE them. They're not as comfy as my Clarks which have some sort of cushioning in the footbed, but they're still fine for walking around during the day. And they're a lot cooler looking ;) I mean, I wouldn't wear them on a European tour, but they're fine for work or a trip to the mall. I always wear them barefoot and have never gotten blisters, though I do tend to blister often in new shoes so I guess this is a bonus.

That sounds pretty good. Thanks!

Well, they were too narrow, stiff and heavy. Darn it. I really liked they way they looked. Good thing I got the, from Endless with free returns!

Agh, it's all your fault - because of this post I started obsessing and couldn't get them out of my head. Fortunately I was able to find these for 60% off... http://www.onlineshoes.com/womens-frye-candice-woven-clog-black-pebbled-full-grain-p_id164639

Of course, if they don't fit I WILL have to pay return shipping.

Thanks a lot ;-)

I'm so sorry they didn't fit :( I *just* wore mine today. If you're still looking for clogs, I find that my Clarks are a touch wider (they don't come up as far either), they've got a lower heel, and they feel a bit lighter. Also, the heel and shank aren't wood (like the Fryes) but some sort of synthetic something. That might help a bit?

Thanks for the suggestion!

I love the look of frye anything, and have boots, clogs, flats. Have returned sandals and heels (ended up too narrow for me in the toe box). In the end the clogs are not as comfy as my borns that look similar but not quite as hand made as teh fryes, so in the end i haven't worn my frye clogs yet, and i bought them last winter. I plan to wear with socks. Every time I put them on I think they're too heavy/clunky or something for a lot of walking (i walk a TON at work, all day long). Don't know how heavy your pair is.
