I can't believe my baby's starting K in September! Sniff!

I'm looking at either the LE SmallHaul or the LLBean Original Jr. He's a small kid, so I'd prefer a small backpack. But do either of these fit standard sized folders? Anyone have one preference over the other?

We have the Small Haul and it fits a folder fine. It is more of a standard backpack size. We usually had a folder and lunchbox in it.

The LL Bean is a bit smaller (height and depth) and does not have the mesh pockets on the side for a water bottle, etc that the Lands End has. Both will fit a standard folder.

We went with this one from Gap Kids:
http://www.gap.com/browse/product.do?pid=765349&kwid=1&sem=false&sdReferer=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.gap.com%2Fproducts%2Fbo ys-backpacks.jsp

It's the same size as the LL Bean. I think it's a good size for a Kindergardener assuming you don't have a big coat/ boots to stuff into it in the winter- then it might be a bit small.

ETA: I went with a smaller pack after trying several on- I'd rather have something that is the right size for him now and buy something bigger later then have him haul around something umcomfortably large waiting for him to grow into it.

I went with the full size studyhaul, knowing it would last for several years when a bigger backpack is needed. I ran into SEars and compared the studyhaul to the smallhaul and there wasn't that much difference. I have a larger K (46 inches tall) and the studyhaul fits him very well. If your K is smaller then Smallhaul may work but may also need replacing for 1st grade.

We have the Lands End Original Jr.and it is a perfect fit for my son. He is on the small size also but the nice thing is that it will fit the folders and his lunch. But it isn't too big on him.
