Question for techies re Android OS

I heard that Verizon will be pushing out OS 2.2 ahead of the Droid 2's release at the end of August. If so, will the Incredible get that update (the article says yes, but it's all rumors right now) and will that update include the Swype typing method?

Not a techie by any strech, but we have the EVO (sprint's 4g Android) and we were able to download swipe. ( I think it's 2.1)

when i tried the Incredible for 10 days i immediately downloaded swype onto it, so i had it on my incredible. i did happen to get lucky and the same day i got it the beta opened up, so that may be why i was able to dl it. but i do know someone who got an incredible recently and they are using swype.
