Heard of Lambert Academic Publishing?

I just got an email from someone belonging to LAP saying they were interested in publishing a sholarly work of mine as a book. Has anyone heard of Lambert Academic Publishing? Is this spam?

After a quick google search it seems it might be a scam. Did the email seem to be worded awkwardly?

The upshot in the thread above is that it probably isn't a scam, but it also probably isn't as cool as it sounds.

Thanks for your responses. No, the email was not awkwardly worded. I did google it myself. My gut feel is that something wasnt right, probably because they seemed to want to publish a minor effort as a book. Then I just got curious..
