Hi all,

Another question from the FTM of a now 6-week old, I understand that babies goes through various cycles of sleep and have a light period of sleep between cycles when they can often wake up completely (at 40 min for my DS). I thought that my baby was just done sleeping and usually picked him up at this point but I now understand he was probably transitioning through cycles. Any recommendations on how to help him transition through these cycles? If he full-out cries should I let him cry for 10 minutes or so? Or is he just overstimulating himself and won't go back to sleep? On the other extreme, I believe Dr. Sears recommends going in and putting a hand on his chest and singing lightly. Any recommendations?

Thank you.
