What do you think of CANVAS fabric for a diaper bag?

I got my OiOi bag from Gilte, and it's beautiful...but I thought it was going to be microfiber--must have misread the description. It's a very sturdy canvas. Have you found this fabric to be durable enough for a diaper bag? It's very nice looking and large, but I am not sure if canvas will stand up to rain, baby spit up and all that other good stuff.

I have the StorkSak Aubrey, and I love it. It's made of hardwearing canvas, and I haven't had any trouble with it... DS hasn't spit-up on it, though.

Well, I did end up buying the bag and it's gorgeous and very large. Hopefully the baby won't destroy it. :-P

The military uses canvas for a lot of their equipment...and sails are made of canvas...it must be pretty tough.
