I know this would belong in Kid Wear but I'm looking for more traffic and quicker feedback than I think I could get there. Anways, does Hanna Andersson sizing run true, small, big? My daughter is about 26 lbs. but short at about 31 inches. I see according to their chart that is right at the cut off between size 80 and 90. Which size do you think would be more appropriate for the holiday season?

Thanks!

I've always gone by my child's height when ordering from HA an it's worked out well. I don't find their clothes to be particularly baggie or slim fitting. If you're buying for the holidays (4mo from now) I'd say go for the bigger size unless your child's height is in the middle if the smaller size.

80 says 30-34 inches and my daugther is about 30/31 inches now. 90 says 34-38 inches. She may surpass the weight for the 80 (27 lbs.) though. If it helps I am looking at a playdress. It seems that they'd be quite forgiving since the body of the dress is very "flowy." Hmmmmmmm...

Go by height. There's grow room built in. Our 33" baby has room to grow in his 80's and our almost 2.75 yo can still fit in most of his 80s as well. 90's look big still on the almost 3yo but he wears them b/c DS2 is in the 80s. PJ's, livable leggings, and a few one-piece items can be sized up, but for the most part, there is grow room built in. Also, remember that if you plan on doing pics in like Nov, the 90's would be HUGE and almost silly looking.

DD is 25lbs and 33inches, she fits perfectly in an 80 summer PD right now. I bought her fall PD's in 90's. I think you would be fine with an 80 because I think height is much better way to buy Hanna, but a 90 might get you 2 years wear.

I would get the 80. My youngest is about the same size/age as your daughter and she fits nicely in 80s with plenty of room.

Jack is 36 inches and 29lbs. He can get into a few 80's shortie outfits but barely. 90's do much better on him

My girls are 31" tall and can still wear their 70s comfortably. 90s are a long way off for us!

Definitely 80 going by height. My 43 inch tall DD still squeezes into her favorite red and orange striped sz 90 LJs! Nothing else though.;)
90 fits best at around 36 inches tall.

My DD is 34" tall and 23 lbs (so tall and lanky) and we've been in 80s for the last month. Honestly? The 90s would look absolutely ridiculous on her right now, and the 80s fit nicely with room in most things. (The slimmer fit dresses/shirts will be the first thing she outgrows, though).

The dresses come down to her knees nicely and the shoulder seams are in the right place.

My guess? We'll be in 90s for the holidays, but I'm going to hold off for another month to decide.

I've found that it depends on the particular item, at least with my toddler. She still fits into her 70 capris, dresses in 80/90, zippers in 90, but the tees that we have in 90 would totally swim on her. Dresses are probably one of the most forgiving items, size-wise.

add me to the 'it depends' group. though I will say that my 6mo was in 80s. I brought her into the store with me and asked the SA. the SA said 70s by height always blah blah blah..... and then came around to coo at ther and took one look at her thighs and said oh no, you need 80s. 70s will never get around those legs. ;)

With my DD it depends too. I just unloaded my two boxes from Hanna this weekend- 67 POUNDS of Hanna. We tried most of it on this morning. DD is 11 months and 30 inches. She fits 70's and 80's in some of the leggings, in the wiggle pants the 80's are still big in the waist. She easily fits 80's in the tops and almost the 90's. 80's and some 90's in dresses. Still, I'd rather things be a little big on her than too small.

Plus we wear summer here year round so when ever she grows into it, she grows into it. I can't imagin not having the luxury to buy ahead when clothes are on sale.

Also- I did get some boys things in my huge shipment. (But I just don't think the boys stuff is nearly as wonderful as the girls.)

I bought shirts only- half in 130's which should fit now and half in 140's for this spring. It just so happens that the 140's I bought were the "boxy" t and the 130's are a regualr t (I guess- not listed as anything on the tag. I washed them and hung them to dry. They are ALL (130's and 140's) exactly the same size. It works ok for me I guess. They all fit. But I did think I'd warn others.

DD1 is 4, 41" and 36lbs and can wear 90 skirts, leggings (although they are almost capri size), but for the most part her Hannas are either 100s or 110s. I know that doesn't help you much, but IIRC when my DD was that size she was fine in 80s. We didn't buy any Hannas until she was 18 mos. old, and she wore the 80s for about a year. I tend to size up in tops only though or the 100% non Jersey cotton items (and I really don't find the tops all that great; I prefer Gymbo or Gap).

If you can, I'd buy both then return whatever doesn't fit in November. Especially if they're sold out you'll make someone really happy when it shows back up. :)
