I've had an infection on my finger for almost 2 weeks now. Went back to the doc today (just the walk-in doc in a box) where he made an incision (even though there was no abcess). He said to soak it at least 3 times/day. I called back later to find out if that was with or without epsom salt. He told me I could do either. Okay, thanks!

Is it better to use the salt or not? Or does it really not matter? I have the salt already, so it's not a matter or making a special trip for it.

TIA!

Use the epson salts, I had an infection in college and they told me to soak with epson salts and it cleared up in less than a week.

Another vote for with salt.

Thanks- it hurts like h&ll. It's pretty sad that I got through 3 deliveries (2 c/sections) taking the pain like a champ, yet my stupid finger has me using my labor breathing! Doesn't help that they guy didn't use any numbing agent on my finger. throb throb throb! :(
