Why can't I use all caps?

I tried posting all caps for soemthing, and it didn't work. Is the forum automatically makign all caps into initial caps instead? This has happened twice, now. I used them for effect. Why can't I do this? As in -->

W E. L O V E. I T! Only without the spaces. Not sure if that even worked.

ETA: Ok, weird. That was all-caps and reverted to lower case. Maybe its a change in software? I know I've put various words in all caps....

This sentence is not all caps, but STARTING NOW IT IS! And now it's not again.

Did you see my post just after that? As long as you have at least one lowercase letter it will leave it... you just can't "shout" your entire post.

This is an automatic feature of the software to keep people from shouting at one another. THANKS for sharing the workaround though, ladies. Just kidding! :p

Truthfully, I like that. I've seen way too many posts with all caps that just make me cringe. Even if the person isn't trying to shout, it sure feels like you're being yelled at by an angry person. This is much calmer!
