View Full Version : Baked Oatmeal in a Crockpot?

Anyone ever use a crockpot to make baked oatmeal? If so, I'd love some guidance so our baked oatmeal will be ready to go when we get up in the morning. My crockpot has a timer and switches to the "warm" setting after it times out. The settings are High: 4 hrs & 6 hrs, Low: 8 hrs & 10 hrs.

I read that Low is about 200 degrees and High is about 300 degrees. I ordinarily bake oatmeal @ 350 for an hour. I don't want to dry out the oatmeal by leaving it too long in the crockpot. Would it be WAY overdone if I set it for 8 hrs on low, switching automatically to warm? What about 4 hrs on high, switching to warm? I want to go to bed at night & not get up @ the crack of dawn to bake or use a slow cooker.

Any thoughts?

TIA...(I'm X-posting this in the Lounge)
