We're trying to start a tradition for my nephew's first birthday in a few weeks where each year he gets another book about a character with his name. I've done several searches on Amazon and keep finding books that are out of print and the children's department clerks at B&N couldn't think of any.

Do you have any suggestions for baby/toddler books with a Lucas character?

Thanks in advance!!! :)

I have an almost 6 year old Lucas and I can't think of one book we've read with a Lucas character. Let me think about it...

Neat idea!

I don't mean to discourage you, but unless the kid is named Sam, this type of search usually results in only a few books that have the right name but are not very good books.
I searched but found very few and nothing that looked promising. :(

You can try the following for OP books:

alibris.com
abebooks.com

Try using the keywords: juvenile lucas
Maybe throw in the keyword fiction if you get too many results.

Also, my sister got a nephew this book:

http://www.iseeme.com/oriveownna.html

It is supposed to teach him how to write his name. I think it could be enjoyed before writing age though. I don't remember if I really liked it or not, but I didn't go out and buy one for my kid. Although I might look into it as DS got very little in the way of personalized gifts.

BTW, if anyone has a Hannah, this looks pretty good :):

Here are a few I found on Amazon--I haven't read any of them, but the first four seem to have good reviews.

Good luck with your search!

I finally found a new copy of Lucas the Littlest Lizard so I purchased that for him. I see what you mean about not having a lot of titles with certain kid names. We'll see how many years we can continue this tradition...

I'll also post if I run across any other Lucas books.

Thanks for all of the help!

You could always do a personalized book like these http://www.iseeme.com/ or http://www.kdnovelties.com/ They may not have characters with his name, but there are some cute ideas here. Just do a search for personalized children's books and you should find several.

When my boys were born we got several books with their names in the title to display on a shelf in the nursery. I searched Amazon kids books with the first name and got a good number of hits for both. Start there for sure. Some were more obscure but cute.

The main character in the movie Ant Bully is Lucas.
IMDB.com lets you search movies by charecter names, but you can specifie first or last name nor can you search just main charecter.

http://www.thebestkidsbooksite.com/kids-books-search-all.cfm lets you search by name
Type in the name, this case Lucas.
It will look like nothing was found, but make sure you click on the name as a link and a new page will load with a list of books.

Glad you were able to buy the book--it looked very cute!
