Quick question for Stieg Larsson fans

I haven't read any of the Larsson books and just about to start. I have the Girl who Played with Fire and it looks like it's a sequel to the Dragon Tattoo. Should I make sure to read Dragon Tattoo first, or can I get started with Played with Fire? And what comes after? Thanks!

I think that you should read them in order.

The Girl Who Played with Fire

The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest

They are slow starting and slow in some
places. Lots of character intro, etc. I actually
didn't finish the third book, but I'm glad that I
attempted and read what I did read.

Yes, you absolutely must read them in order. The second would make no sense if you read it first. And it would spoil the first, lol! It is almost one long book, published in 3 installments.

And yes, the first 100 pages of dragon tattoo are almost painful, and then it takes off at breakneck speed. The pace keeps up through the second book; I haven't read the third yet!

Def in order. I read the first two, and loved them. I saw the Tattoo movie (subtitled) and it was one of the best "book to movie" conversions I have ever seen!

Another vote for reading them in order. Plus, I think the first one is MUCH better than the second and third.
