What purse for this outfit?

Calling all fashionistas...I need help finding a purse....quick!

I'm wearing a dark plum sheath dress, with a black patent belt, like this: (not this exact dress, but very similar...different neckline)

With these shoes: (they have a black patent heel, and I already bought them...no tights/pantyhose)

what size bag to do you need (big, medium, small)?

Well, it is actually for my brother's memorial service. :( He was always wearing funky shoes, so the shoes are in his honor.
I'm thinking medium, over the shoulder style. I was originally thinking a metallic, too, but then decided on a black patent leather.
