J is just miserable with hay fever right now - his nose is leaking like a faucet and every time he sneezes, he gets big huge snot ropes (sorry - TMI!!!). The only thing that has ever worked for him has been Zyrtec. So needless to say, this past spring was just a pleasure what with the recall and everything. Claritin doesn't seem to do anything but make him into a beasty monster no matter what time we give it to him, and Benadryl knocks him on his butt.
Any idea if they have started making Zyrtec for children again yet? I can't seem to find it anywhere!!!

I have had no trouble finding generic Zyrtec, but I haven't looked in awhile. Depending on your kid's dose it's well worth teaching them how to take the pill. The pill is quite small and coated.

You could also try a smaller dose of Benadryl. I am personally very sensitive and I take half of what my 9 year old takes!
