The b-day party went sooooo well!

I'm positively exhausted, and DH is dying for a nap, but we survived, and it was wonderful. I wanted to thank everyone for the advice in the one post and comiseration in the other. In the end, this came together perfectly! The place could not have been better, the magician was beyond amazing, we had enough cake (I couldn't believe it), the craft was exactly right (last minute panic attack sent me to Michaels for a little throwaway craft), the moms and dads were amazing, and DS has some very generous friends. And it's over! But really, it was all I had hoped for, DS was so enamored of everyone and was so excited that they all came, and you guys REALLY helped me figure out what to do about the twins and the kosher vs. FA child (turns out there were TWO serious peanut allergies). That mom couldn't stop thanking me. I told her if she ever needs an advocate to help her to call me. Just wanted to leave a little update. You're all the best!

Oh, I should mention, the kosher child did not come, and the FA child didn't either. However ... another FA child was there, so I was glad to have done all the research ahead of time for the other one. Also, the twins did not show up, either! It took me forever to track down her email, but I did get it, and she was very appreciative for the invitation to be extended to the other daughter. Ultimately, they said yes but had to cancel when something came up but sent along a gift anyway (I then sent along two t-shirts :-)). So, that was very nice of them. Also, the mom who doesn't like to separate due to "family time" declined in the end, too. So, I got my 'No's' -- THANK YOU!, and ended up with 28 kids. WHEW!

Yay! I just got finished telling my hubby your costco story-- we were both in shock about it! you poor thing :( you totally deserved a good party & it sounds like your guests really appreciated it :):):)
