I know not everyone does party favors, but we do. In the past, I have managed to find a favor that was related to the theme of the party - a zoo t-shirt for the zoo party, bubbles for the bubble party, a toolbox w/pencils, crayons, glue, etc. for the construction party. Last year we had his party at Ridemakerz, so the car they made was their favor.

This year I am stumped. DS loves road signs, so we are having a "road sign" party. The children will bring their bikes and scooters and we're having a little bike rodeo. The craft activity will be making license plates with foam rectangles and decorations. I have street sign lollipops already. There will be about 20 or so children invited. Last year we did not invite siblings and it caused some very hurt feelings, but siblings could increase the numbers to 35 or more. I have budgeted no more than $100 for favors.

I found reusable snack bags with street signs on them for $4. I thought I could add the lollipops and a few snacks and be done. If siblings come, I'm way over my budget. Plus, would the kids even like the bags?

I found these bicycle bells (http://cgi.ebay.com/Metal-Ring-Handlebar-Bell-Sound-Bike-Bicycle-Black-/180501133256?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2a06b4b7c8) on ebay, but I have no way to be sure of the quality. The bicycle bells I've found in stores are $7 - $8 each.

What other things could I do that would go along with a street sign/bike rodeo theme?

Thanks,
Linda

How about a custom lanyard with a whistle on the end. Think up something spiffy to 'write' on the lanyard and throw a cheap whistle on the end. I went through a sample order for 50 tubular (the most inexpensive option) lanyards and the cost was $80. Shipping is free. http://www.customlanyards4all.com/

What about Bicycle Spoke Beads?

These are cool too, I think they're buy 2 get 1 free but might still be above your budget.

I would love the resusable bag! You can add a small snack and be done, IMO.

Another idea.. My kids have travel activity kits, like travel bingo. Every time they spot something on their card, they mark it. For instance, when they see a stop sign or railroad crossing or interstate sign, they mark off the respective squares.:

How about personalized contruction hats? I love getting things we can put in our dress-up closet. Here is a really cute web site that does adorable personalized party favors:
