DS is turning 7 next month, and would like to have a a small robot theme birthday party at home. I bought some cute robot clipart online and am making invitations and cupcake toppers and also to make some decorations for the tables and goody bags. But I need ideas for games! I'd like them to be robot theme, something that goes with the overall idea. I'm also looking for cute robot type party favors -- goody bags here are expected, but again, I'd like to do something theme related and not generic Oriental Trading toys with candy.

Any suggestions? I'm thinking we're going to have 8-9 boys -- just the kids from his class.

Pin the antenna onto the robot?

If you have one of those voice synthesizers (sp), maybe let the boys play with that to sound like they are a robot.

Teach them how to dance, "the robot." :ROTFLMAO: When DS2 was 3, he saw, "the robot" dance on youtube and tried to do it. It was so funny, DH and I were rolling.

How about freeze dance while dancing the robot? (not sure if this is too girly)

What a fun theme! We did a space party for DD last year.

Games: Robot Says (Simon Says), Robot Dance, Robot Limbo, Pin the Arms on the Robot

Crafts: make robot costumes with cardboard boxes and foil or little robots with milk cartons, cans, etc. Or have the kids make robot T-shirts with fabric paint (either they paint a robot onto the tshirt, or order gray t-shirts and have them paint the robot buttons/control panels on them so they become the robot).

Favors: Glow sticks, pop rocks, Pez robots, wind up robots or Transformers.
This tin windup robot is cute:
