Wearing knee length denim skirt in fall/winter?

I have two knee length denim skirts that have gotten a lot of use this summer as they are two of the only things that fit. I would love to be able to wear them this fall and winter if possible. Any tips on making them stylish for cooler weather? TIA

Would they look good with opaque tights under them? Or maybe knee high boots? Or both ;)

Black opaque tights, black stacked heel shoes. Black turtleneck (kinda chunky). Depending on the weather, you could do bare legs and knee high boots.
