How long is refrigerated cooked rice safe??

How long is cooked rice safe for after refrigeration? The jury is out on this one! A quick Google search comes up with everything from one to six days! I know I have eaten cooked rice, reheated, after it has been in the fridge as much as 3 days later, with no ill effects. Just curious what the rule of thumb is? I've never had cooked rice go off.

I would still eat it up until 4 days after.

I have probably eaten rice that was at least a week old and been fine. Now that I have DS to worry about, I wouldn't feed rice more than 3 days old to him, but rice freezes extremely well.

Great - thanks for the replies. I feel the same way - I will usually eat stuff as long as it does not smell bad, but usually only give it to DD up to about 3 days after cooking.

My philosophy is if it is less than a week, has no visible mold and smells okay, it is okay to eat.
