I ask this because I was raised Jewish, and my DH was raised Catholic. Both of us are not really practicing fully per se, but still expose our girls to the traditions of our religions. I also want them to be aware of the customs and beliefs of other religions too. Their circle of friends and classmates come from various religious and cultural backgrounds.

I am looking for a book that discusses God, and touches on what some of the major religions around the world celebrate or believe about God.

I think for their age and maturity level. they would be able to understand these concepts without feeling overwhelmed or confused.

Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Thanks. :)

This is a great question and I hope there is such a book--I would love to have it!

I have seen good books on the Jewish holidays--Sammy Spider's First Hannukah, Sukot, etc. And there are some really simple Board books on Christmas and Easter that I like--found them at Barnes and Noble. But I haven't seen info on other holidays except Kwanza.

I will be watching this thread and hoping such a book exists!

We have this book
http://www.amazon.com/What-God-Etan-Boritzer/dp/0920668887/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1285012054&sr=8-1

It's brief, not too much detail on each religion, which for this age is good for DS, he's 5.

I think the DK book "A Faith Like Mine" is good and very respectful of each faith:

I was just going to see if DK had anything like this, because that's the first publisher that came to mind after reading the OP. I don't own this book but we love most things from DK.

I haven't read this one, but ran across it recently when looking for a birthday gift.

I've read this one, it has a variety of prayers/blessings (including Wiccan - I would say it leans toward the Mother Earth end of things).
