My town just had a zero waste day this weekend - we recycled and donated a minivan full of stuff, but could have done more if I was more organized. We were given a 2 page handout with what can be donated to area organizations and was amazed at what can be donated. we are trying to declutter and simplify our lives and trying to be mindful of the amount we trash.
did you know old sheets can be donated to animal shelters?
sheets in good condition can be donated lots of places.
extra building supplies can be donated to Habitat for Humanities and others (we are donated 3 boxes of tile left over from previous floor).
camping supplies can be donated to area transitional living centers. (we are donated our old tent)
curtains, artwork, home decor can be donated to many organizations (these are things that we may get a few bucks for at a yard sale) - i'd rather donate them.
